#1
LexCath travels down to Log Mountain to take on the Bobcats. Who ya got?
I'll take the Knights 35-24
#2
Bell very, very young. LexCath has a heck of a team coming back. Will be a fun way to kick off the season.

I've heard some places say Bell will be loaded or that they will be down. Which one is it? It might change the score in my pick lol

Bell will have to control the the ball and the clock to win this one....if Lex Cath. can stop the run. Bell will lose by 2 TD's. If not bell will win by 10 pts. So can Lex Cath. stop the run??????????:eyeroll:
#5
Lex Cath hasnt been able to stop the run for along time,if Dudley was still at Bell id take Bell by 21 pts,but since he's gone Ill take Bell by 14 pts.
#6
If this game was later in the year I would take Bell. Bell will have some growing pains on D the first couple of games. Bell's offense will be strong right out of the gate.

Not down, just young in a lot of areas. Much like LC was last year. Nobody needs to feel sorry for the Bobcats, they will be fine come November.

Still should be a good game.

How many starters does LexCath return?

8 on offense and 9 on defense. As well as Nick Nash and Oscar Melendez who were starting but suffered season ending injuries
#12
Bell should have a dual threat QB this year but not sure how fast the kid is but he seemed sorta slow last year but this is a whole new year and Bell will win this one close 28 to 26.
#13
Likely the only game on Bell's schedule that I will pick them to lose. Lex Cath's QB was at the school this year when I was there for a camp. He is an exceptional athlete who can really play the position. His youtube highlights tell you what Bell will be facing in the way of a pass attack.

Still, Davenport will get his and make it a game. LC over BC 28-20.

This will be a tough start for the Bobcats. They are very young in some key positions. I know Bell always reloads, but this will be the first year that looks as if Bell is rebuilding. The new coach will not be the reason Bell stumbles a little this year. He is a proven coach and has taken the team over in stride. Bell will just have a hard time replacing the talent lost in the past couple years. This is a good oportunity for Bell to see where they are against a great program. It will prove to be helpful down the road win or lose in this one. As far as Davenport carrying them through this one, I look for him to have to play both sides of the ball. He was a starter at corner as a freshman and can do it but, I just don't think he can do it all. I think if the Cats control the ball, they will pull this one out.

I'll take LexCath in this one. Should be an offensive shootout, seeing both teams Ds will struggle, LC vs run & BC vs pass.
#16
i think this will be somewhat of a rebuilding year because they lost a class last year that only lost 4 games over their 4 years. win or lose i think this game will be good for both programs this early in the year. the O for Bell will be fine the D is the side of the ball where the kinks will have to be worked out. only one way to find out. i got the bobcats by a touchdown:Thumbs:

correct me if i am wrong but i read in the middlesboro paper that bell only has 6 seniors this year.

8 I think? Had a young man that played as a freshman move back in as a senior from out west.

I think that you are right he played as a freshmen and sophmore but moved because of military obligations he is back now.

Who will kick for Bell this year? JD handled the duty well after bionic leg went to WKU. That is one of the most overlooked parts of the game in the mountains. Soccer programs are not feeding us kickers and straight on kicking is a lost art that gets butchered by coaches who don't have a clue who to do it. Most kids try to scoot to the side then still kick with their toe and most don't even use a square toe shoe.

You are correct with 8.

yeah we are young and that will be our down fall more than likely but this game will help prepare for tough battles later on down the road. but anything can happen!!

Kicking Coach "Hunk" Johnson does a terrific job of training and developing kickers. Merrick was below average before Coach Johnson worked with him. He will have someone ready.

I guess it's fair to assume that Bell will lose to Lex Cath and possibly another team or two during the season. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully we can bounce back after taking some lumps early in the season. Let's just not panic. Maybe we pull off some upsets? Lex Cath maybe out of the question though. I don't think we can stop their explosive passing game. Hope we just keep it competitive......

I think the Bobcats have a good chance vs. the Knights easyM. Bell probably can't contain the air assault with their defense but they can contain it with the Bobcat offense. Ball Control is something that Bell has historically been good at and last year's Lex Cath squad could not stop the run against anyone it seemed. If Bell shortens the game and doesn't turn it over they have a chance to pull it off.

I've read several posts about Cath's troubles against the run. If they can't stop Bell's run game we stand a good chance of pulling off the upset. I call it an upset because of Bell's youth. Throw out the youth aspect and Bell would be the favorite to me.
It's been awhile since I've had a chance to talk to you Hatz. It's good hearing from you again. Hope all is well with you.....

All is good. Hate we don't get to hook up vs. you guys again but hope you all do well in your new class.

I think Bell has the perfect scheme and players to beat the Knights.
