Somerset is 2A, and Paducah Tilghman has to be in there somewhere
#6
I look forward to seeing a Central/Bell match-up

Jesus 3A is loaded now. Etown, Lawrence County, Sheldon Clark, and Trigg County are all Top 10 calibur teams as well.

Moving up to 3A - Trigg County could hardly considered a power. They have not been a factor in 2A for years. They are barely above .500 in the past four seasons. Always an abundance of pre-season optimism which never pans out. Plus being in Fort Campbell's 2A district did not help. This year they do get back Dixie Jones from Hoptown and his running buddy Tim Bush. We shall see.

I didn't realize how loaded 3A really is until I made my preseason top 10.

1. Bell County
2. Louisville Central
3. Belfry
4. Paducah Tilghman
5. Fort Campbell
6. Breathitt County
7. Russell
8. Pike Central
9. Mason County
10. Corbin

Truly an upgrade from last season, hopefully the mountains can take control of 3A again. I feel like all of the classes either took a step up or stayed the same with the exception of 5A and A.

I just posted that 2A was toughest from top to bottom but my Lord after looking at 3A it wil be tough as well. The only thing that bothers me about 3A is that the travel between schools can really affect the game. Louisville to Bell Co. or vice versa is a very long trip. And same can get said for Louisville to Puducah, or think about if Bell and PT meet in the semi finals you have have to travel the entire length of the state. So I think in alot of these matchups the home team will have a hugh advantage IMO!!! Also the next couple years Lou Central will be loaded so I'm not sure if anyone can stop them.

Alright now here is another question:
Which team do you guys think will fall out of the top ten first (if any do at all) and who will be the team to put em out?

this list good, we will see how Bell does with there new coach..

3A in the east will be nothing short of a street brawl. I would love to be able to see some of those games. It is setting up to be the most exciting 3A competition in years. In the west, Fort Campbell lost 15 seniors including Tre Powell and not sure what they will have coming back or transferring in. Paducah Tilghman is still a question mark because of some new faces at the skills.

Kind of a dead horse until someone knocks of Central...Bell might give them a run, but that run might be more of a chase!
#19
Until someone proves they can stay with Central, they are 1 by far and everyone else is playing for 2nd.

I've heard a lot about the distance in this class and in some certain scenarios it could be huge (Bell to Paducah).

But Louisville to Bell is not much different than when Boyle had to journey to Paducah or Hopkinsville. Or for Danville's trips to Mayfield. Once you get to the semi-finals distance is the price paid for making it that far.

1) Central
2) Tilghman
3) Bell
4) Russellville

Anybody's guess after that.
#23
Corbin is in top 5, they are loaded
#24
Russellville moved to 1A. But they were plenty tough in 3A.
#25
Whats awesome about 3A if you are a mountain fan is this: You could have two mtn. teams playing for the state championship in the finals!

I do not see it.
Centeral is 14 points better than Bell and Tilghman and 28 points better than anyone else is Eastern KY

I think you have to throw Lawrence County and Sheldon Clark in the pre-season Top 10. E-town? Not so sure, they aren't even the 2nd or 3rd best team in their new district. You have a Henry County team that seems to get no respect even though they have had region championship appearances 2 of the last 3 years. LaRue County has dog whipped E-town the past two years they have played. I also think you have to throw Edmonson County on the watch list as well. If not for the runs that Tilghman was able to put together the past couple years, they play Lou. Central in the semis the past two years.

Either way, 3A looks to be the best class all the way through, I agree. I can't wait to see how the district of Sheldon Clark, Lawrence Co, Belfry, PCC and East Ridge pans out!! :flame:

1. Lou. Central
2. Belfry
3.Breathitt
4. Pad. Tilghman
5. Mason
6. Pike Central
7. Bell
8. Russell
9. Sheldon Clark
10. Ft. Campbell
I think ranking are over rated and stupid to be honest. Very rarely do any of the teams end up being what people have them ranked as in the pre season. I think Lou. Central is hard to argue against though, after them it really doesn't matter.

they are not 28 points better than Belfry, they had alot of turnovers in that game last year to make it one sided..
