Paintsville 73 Shelby Valley 71
#1
Final..Just a score...stats anyone?
#2
I heard Vanhoose put a shot up off a rebound with .3 seconds left...Shelby Valley is a lot better than their record says..

In their 8 Region losses they are losing by an average of 3.9 points per game...

Could be a sleeper come tournament time..
#3
I posted in an earlier thread that this game would be close!

Congrats Paintsville!

Way to go Tigers! I can't stand many more of these though.:insane:

I'm not as young as I used to be. Hard on the ticker.
That #3 (Elisha Justice is his name I think) for Sv is a 8th grader from Dorton! I think he actually gave Pugh a good run tonight. He is quick as a cat and handles the better than alot of players that I have seen this year. Bright Bright future!

Good win paintsville to bad you couldnt get those raiders though i was really looking foward to seeing you all in richmond i done had my room reserved like BMR did and had to cancel..lol...maybe you will get it next year.
#17
good win
#18
I think Cade Riddle had 31 for Valley, Jacob Bryant had 20, and Mitchell Riddle had 11. Slone had 25 or 26 for Paintsville and Vanhoose had 22 or 23.

I really want to commend the Wildcats on their effort cause I honestly was looking for a blow out here. I posted earlier in another thread that I looked for Valley to pick it up some time or another... maybe this is the time.

Congrats to Paintsville on the win.
I would have loved to have seen this one.

Does anyone have the free throw stats from the game?
#21
good job
#22
I can't handle many more of these... I think I will have a heart attack before I graduate... the crowd wasn't really there for the game, most of them had already left for Richmond... pretty exciting game, kudos to J.D. for rebounding the shot and tipping it back in!!!
Good job tigers...

After the first half I thought this game should have been Shelby Valleys because Paintsville couldn't handle the Riddle boy inside. So I want to thank Valleys coach for not going inside as much in the second half keep shooting the threes. I would love to see Riddle on this Paintsville team I am sure Bill Mike would know how to use him.
#24
I agree. Paintsville has absolutely NO inside game.
#25
paintsville has good talented players but noone with and size for the inside game...only has kevin williams and thats about it

This definitely was not Coach Booher's fault. They did keep going to Cade in the 2nd half(he had like 14 points in the half). He played a great game, and the rest of the team looked for him a lot. Shelby Valley did not shoot very many threes in the second half, but they hit a good percentage of the ones they shot. What beat Valley was the lack of defensive rebounding by the big boys. It happened not only on the last shot by Paintsville, but the rest of the game as well. Good game boys! Slone and Vanhoose played very well also.

Bill Mike might know better how to use Cade, but he sure didn't know how to stop him. His press(or lack thereof) was what made Cade's offense. I know sometimes coaches get caught up in pressing even when it isn't working, but the press was horrible. Only maybe 1/3 of Cade's offense came in the post. The rest was easy layups off of Paintsville's ineffective press.

nice win

Cade Riddle IMO is VERY underrated. I had him listed as one of the top post players in the region.

Congrats to the Tigers, now you need to keep it rolling into the tourney, it's just around the corner.

Say what you want but they didn't get him the ball no where near as much as they needed too. I believe he had 22 or 24 at halftime so he got like 9 or 7 in the second half. Not enough balls to go around at the Valley keep shooting outside and not taking advantage of your strength.
