Newport Central Catholic senior center Jake Giesler has committed to play basketball at Jacksonville, reports Enquirer contributor Richard Skinner.
Giesler averaged 18.5 points, 13 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and three assists. He was voted the best defensive player in Division II by the Northern Kentucky Boys Basketball Coaches Association.

He's a good kid, I coached him in AAU
Though Jake would hate to admit it, he wore Campbell County Purple and Gold before he ever put on the Colors of Newport Catholic when he played for my AAU team.
We won the 2007 Bluegrass Games with Jake in the middle.

congrats jake, fantastic career at NCC. he was getting alot of interest in both football and basketball and would've been successful in both, but it looks like he'll stick to hoops.
