OK, BOYS AND GIRLS I HAVE ONE FOR YOU THAT HAPPENED BACK IN THE 80"S. THERE WAS A LOCL HIGH SCHOOL PLAYING AND ONE OF THE HOME TEAM'S BACKS BROKE LOOSE FOR A TOUCHDOWN RUN. BEFORE HE COULD REACH THE ENDZONE, AN INTOXICATED PERSON RUNS OUT OF THE HOME CROWD AND TACKLES THE PLAYER. YOU ARE THE OFFICIAL... YOU MAKE THE CALL....AND THIS REALLY DID HAPPEN. I WAS THERE AT THE GAME. :CE_DP_Ste alute:

There was a very similar thread to this just the other day, except it was a player instead of a fan, in any instance, if the player was in the clear, it will be ruled a touchdown. If the official feels the player were going to be stopped legally, it is up to their total discretion.

threy would either rule it a touch down or a penalty on the opposing team simple as that....

It happened in the 70's and was not a touchdown I was there as well.
The back was in the open and becasue it was a "home" fan who mistook him to be on the other team the half ended.
Also he was arrested.
