Middlesboro 5 Knox Central 3
#1
Middlesboro went to KC last night and came away with a solid victory. Thomas Epperson pitched for the Jackets and was extremely effective, allowing just one unearned run and one hit through 5 1/3 while striking out six.

With a runner on first, he took a shot straight to the leg, crawled to the ball and threw out the lead runner at second, just moments before he left the game.

Down 3-2 after 6, Heltong lead off the top of the 7th for the Jackets with a solo bomb that left no doubt. Following the HR that tied the game, SR Thomas Daniels drew a walk and So. Zach Riddle hit a two-run go-ahead HR.

Capps came in for relief in the 6th for the Jackets and returned to the mound in the 7th to finish the game 3 straight strikeouts.

The Jackets move to 2-1 on the year while KC drops to 1-2.

Seems like Bailey and Canady not playing is hurting the Panthers. There is nothing to worry about though. It's early in the year, and they have too much talent for them not to turn it around.
