No shame in this, Betsy Layne has a very good team this year. Martin is the best all-around player in the 15th Region IMO. He had a great showing in Lexington over Christmas break, and I feel like that solidified his abilities against some top notch talent. Johnson Central has lost 2 games in a row, one was to a cross town rival in an intense atmosphere, and the other was on the road playing arguably the hottest team in the 15th right now. Congrats to BL on the huge win against a talented team.

Horrible officiating, very inconsistent. It was Johnny Webb's normal game. I got to ask JC fans, whats the deal with the Hall kid from JC only playing minimum mins in the 2nd half. I think he had 8 in the 1st quarter. JC is very talented and I think both teams should compete for regionals, but Pupaw you said BL is the hottest team???? Pikeville is the hottest team right now. If BL wins Thursday then I will agree with you. I would hate to be JC's coach, he has to feel JC parents breathing down his neck. I'm just saying they are arguably the hottest team. The game between BL and Pikeville will determine who is currently the best team in the region IMO. They play at the site of the Regional tournament, and I'll expect a post-season atmosphere. Pikeville is a very talented team, and Coach Williams is one of the best coaches in the 15th. Pikeville may be better on paper, but Betsy Layne very well could pull that one off. It wouldn't be an upset in my eyes in the least.

Like was said earlier this is not that crazy of a upset. Betsy Layne Has a VERY good team. And very well could end up in rupp come march. Apperently everyone forgets this bunch from BL took Valley to the wire last year. One thing I can say is that I am excited for the 15th region tournament this year.

Until JC starts playing better as a TEAM they won't have the success that many had expected from this bunch. They've got some of the best athletes that the 15th has to offer, but until they get on the same page they won't have much success. I don't neccesarily agree with their gameplan, but I don't get paid to coach. So my opinion there doesn't mean anything. I agree as well with the last part of your post, the region is very wide open. For the first year in quite some time the region is up for grabs and there are really no definite front runners.

I don't think it was much of and upset, if at all.

I just know the expectation JC has for their team, and it sucks for those not to be met. But, I'm not going to say I wish them all that well..we do play them at the end of the season, lol.

This is one of the hardest things to understand. He has had big 4th quarters, South Floyd, Knott Co and Paintsville with the game on the line. On the radio it sounded like he handled the ball got it to Parker and JC takes him out and doesn't put him back in. I have watched him since JR. Pro and a big fan of the kid but he didn't even play half of the 4th quarter.

Congrats BL. Nice win. I was getting worried with the recent games lost. You where my pre season favorites to win the 15th region. Good luck against Pikeville they have a great team also.

Where did Pikeville come from. In pre season they were not given much of a chance. Saw them play a couple of games, and I do agree they have a chance. East Ridge, Betsy Layne, and Pikeville has been the most consistent. Sheldon Clark up there too. How did most of the weaker teams get into one bracket for ALL A, kind of hurts the tournment.

What a game. Very disappointed in our teams effort, besides at the end of the 4th qt. If we played as hard as that, we would win 98% of our games. You cant continue to show up not ready to play, going through the motions and win anywhere, especially good teams. I'm still not sure what are offense is? It looks really out of sink. There has to be a better offense than that. I noticed last night after half time we came out and most of the team didn't even shoot around or warm back up, they sit on the bench joking around laughing crossing their legs. You would think coming out after that bad of a half they would have been more focused. Tommy get control of those boys before its too late.

Oh well, I'm not giving up just yet. However we have a long way to go to even be a contender again.
