he was said to have interest in the Estill Job, but withdrew his name because he didn't wanna leave his father

Honeycutt is wanting out of Cordia but does not want to move. He just built a new house 2 years ago and does not want to relocate but is interested in a change. He is a great coach and I hope him the best and would like to see him get a good head coaching gig at a good school.

I heard that he wants the KCC girls job. If Trent is smart i'd hire Honeycutt as the girls coach.

I speak with Coach Honeycutt on a very regular basis and here is what is going on:

1. He did not withdraw from the Estill Co. job. He was told they were going to go in a different direction with their hire.

2. He is willing to re-locate but will not be selling his house.

3. He loves Cordia and would only leave for a better situation and would not be looking to do that if it weren't for the current administration over-looking him for every job that comes available (and not just coaching jobs).

Putting him with KCC girls would be the greates hire in the history
of KCC girls basketball, including the Rhett Gibson hire years ago.
Absolutely perfect fit.

Chris Amburgey isn't going anywhere, he was Coach Of The Year in the 14th Region this year! Unless he steps down, his job is secure!

Honeycutt could not handle any thing in Knott he is :rockon:to honest.

Honeycutt just may be the worst coach in the history of high school bb. I never met a player that liked him. He cuts players down on each and every mistake made and never has anything positive to say. That my friends spells disaster. He should stay as far away from kids as possible.

you must have been a coach that could not beat him or a plyer that could not play

I think 80% percent of the people on here would agree with me when I say that you have no clue what you are talking about...he has took teams that should have never had the season they had according to guys like you and have had better seasons then that...you have to remember he is coaching the smallest public school in the state of KY and is still consistently having around .500 seasons and making the region once and even twice every 4 years...if he had the talent that Hatcher had at perry or even Fraley at Knott then he would had already coached in 2 or 3 state tourneys...Honeycutt is without a doubt top 5 best coaches in this region and some people even have him in top 3 for what he does there at Cordia

Honeycutt is not only a great coach but he is an amazing person. His interactions with the kids, and his time spent away from his family in order to coach these guys is absolutely amazing. He gives up a lot in order to be around these guys. I know that honeycutt isn't just teaching the kids about basketball, he also gives them lessons on how to make it in life. Great coach, even better guy. Good luck to him next season and to his future success.

Have you forgot that Mr. Honeycutt did coach at Knott Central before. What was his record during that stint? How many regions did he win? How many districts did he win? He is a good coach, but don't say that if he had the talent of other coaches, because he did have it before and done nothing!

He may of had the opportunity to coach their, but nothing he done was what he wanted to do. The administration at that time had way to much input into who made the team, who played, who started and how many minutes and how many points they should get, it was a joke, why do you think he left over their? Because they had to get someone in their that didn't mind to coach like that. He is one of the best you will ever meet. He is one of the most honest and great coaches around this area and definitely deserves a shot somewhere to show what he can do. Keep up the hard work, you will catch a break sometime.:Clap:

So that's what makes him a great coach. Let the administration tell you who to play, who shoots and who scores the most! That's funny! And why he left was what again? ::

Honeycutt is where he needs to be. No Pressure.

Jeff Honeycutt is a credit to the coaching profession and he shouldn't lower his standards and go to KCC.

I agree with you 100%. He's far to good of guy to be treated and taken advantage of the way he would be at KCC.
