Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended for four to six games on Wednesday for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, according to multiple sources.
When the suspension is announced, it will contain conditions that will allow it to be reduced based on Roethlisberger's behavior and compliance with clinical evaluators.

Does this include pre-season games or does this suspension start when the regular season begins?

Six regular season games, and it is complete BULL****. Santonio gets four games and Ben six? Ray Lewis got how many for being "in the wrong place at the wrong time" and SOMEBODY GOT KILLED. How about the numerous Pac Man Jones transgressions? How about 70% of the friggin Bengals team a couple of years ago? They should have had to forfeit two seasons worth based on what Ben got. Or the Cowboys in the 90s? Strip them of their superbowls, maybe? Absolutely ridiculous by the NFL. Goodell went way overboard. **** the NFL.

The way I look at the situation, only so many girls can accuse you of raping them before it's actually true.

Alright, so Ben gets him some and gets suspended for it? That's stupid.

Some of you guys are clueless. He's an embarrassment to the league, and a joke of a role model. I say this punishment isn't enough.

True or not, it's bad.

Its not his job to be a role model. Its his job to win football games. Like it or not. And I would bet my life on it, that if you could go back and pound some college broads, you would, even though your gonna sit there and type your little heart out that "if I was him, Id never go out and do anything except study plays" yatty yatty yadda..funny thing is, when someone got KILLED by Ray Lewis' actions, NOBODY was raising this much stink about it, and he didnt get the punishment Ben got from nailing a drunk college chick. Ben got punished by the court of public opinion. Zero charges. Zero arrests. Zero convictions. And a six game suspension.

Big Ben is an embarrassment. If rumors are correct there may be more coming.
Bottom line if the players don't like the new policies of the NFL- go find employment else where

I LOOOOVE how many hipocrites we have on BGR. Given the oppurtunity, EVERY SINGLE unmarried man on this site would do what he done. Sit there and deny it all you want, but YOU WOULD DO IT IF GIVEN THE OPPURTUNITY. You walk into a bar full of college girls throwing themselves at you, and I would bet my life on it that you wouldnt turn it down. Yeah he bought them drinks, so what. Thats what college girls do. Come out from under that rock you all are living under. Call what he done disgusting all you want, but he was never charged. He was never arrested, and he was never convicted. If it was all so concrete, the Ga prosecuters would have made a case and tried to convict him. But they had NOTHING. Call him an embarrassment all you want as well. But Ill bet you a cold one that YOUR FAVORITE players on YOUR FAVORITE team does the EXACT same thing when they go out. And guess what? THEY DO GO OUT. Again, its the Steeler-hating court of public opinion that got him punished by the league, which is garbage. Santonio Holmes got four games. Everybody else is getting four games. I wish Ben would scream race. I would find that incredibly amusing.

Goodell will look at Roethlisberger's progress before the season and might consider reducing the suspension to four games.
All of us may have done the same thing but all of us are not under the same employment contracts that he willingly signed. If my employer wants to discipline me because of behavior unbecoming my position they can. They could suspended me or even fire me. The league has a very public policy if you bring disgrace to the league you get suspended. Do it again the suspension increases do it a third time you're out. (See Odell Thurman)
"The Personal Conduct Policy makes clear that I may impose discipline 'even where the conduct does not result in conviction of a crime' as, for example, where the conduct 'imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person,' " Goodell stated in his letter to Roethlisberger.

Eminem mentions Ben Roethlisberger in his latest song: "Despicable."
The million-selling rapper refers to the Steelers' troubled quarterback in explicit lyrics and with the lines, "I'd rather turn this club into a bar room brawl. Get as rowdy as Roethlisberger in a bathroom stall."

I want someone to refresh my memory but did Kobe get a worse punishment then this in his rape charge...I don't think so and his IMO was a lot worse...Big Ben got exactly what he deserved...he knows now what he did was wrong and he will never be put in that position again...plus I know that most of the people in here knows that at least 40% of the super stars go out and party and have sex with other women...they have the name and money and get to do what ever they want...just so happened Ben was with the wrong girl...Ben deserves a 4 game suspension

Yep, after putting yourself in this position TWICE, I would hope he has learned his lesson
