his he gonna keep the same assistants as last year or his he gonna bring some assistants with him???
#8
another question i have is will any of Perry Central's Players Follow Him To Estill County? Reason i ask is because some coaches leave and some of the players follow
#9
Most of Perry's players are happy he is gone. Especially the post guys, because Jon worked them hard. I don't know of any assistants that would be following him from Perry County, I believe he will just try to work with what he has down there.
#10
Players happy he is gone because he worked them hard.. LOL. now that is funny to say the least..

#2) kids following a coach to another county to play, get real, you think the state is going to allow that to happen, I can't really think of a circumstance where that has happened where a kid has followed an assistant to their new head coaching job

Congradulations Jon. Good luck down there.

A very desrving young man. Hard worker, loves the game. My son played for him at Bell and he loved him. Congrats John!!
#14
Jon will do great. He lives and breathes basketball 24/7. Has a great mind for the game and the kids enjoy playing for him. He will work them very hard but they will suceed.

Good luck to the Neers!

well if the state is letting kids move like that, then that is unreal

if i'm not mistaking but if i am someone please correct me, but i think some more of breathitt players are looking to transfer to pike central
#17
I believe those kids that moved were related to that coach correct? I think that is legal.

I Don't Think Corey Shouse is. idk about the kid from Perry Central, but again if i'm wrong someone please correct me

If he works the kids hard he might as well look for another job because mom and dad in estill will not have there children work hard. What the coach yelled at my kid... The coach wants to bench my kid .... find another coach he shouldn't yell at or discipline my kid... He is a good coach and works very hard...

Bentley will do a tremendous job at Estil. He knows the game and is Basketball 24/7. He'll really make them boys work and improve.
#21
If they don't want to work hard or are afraid of getting yelled at, I'm sure they won't be out their very long, because he will not stand for that and they will be shown the door. Just hope the administration backs him up and don't allow some big wig parent to over rule the decision. Happens a lot in different places, guess we will wait and see how everything turns out. Tiller worked them hard and it worked out well for him. Jon will do just fine.
#22
Tiller worked them hard at the beginning then adm. would not back him why do you think he is leaving.... If Bentley throws a player out of practice lol lol he won't be there long.. to much politics... and mom and dad whine to much about hurting there baby feelings.... It's bad when the coach can't bench players because the adm. is afraid they will not play next year...but maybe it will change??? Ok who am I kidding.....

I think Estill will win the 56th and be in the top 5 in the 14th this year. Got alot returning just needs to stay together and could be a great season for them.

Congrats Jon and good luck!

Can you explain, in more detail, the exact nature of your axe to grind with Estill County? "Mom and Dad in Estill".... Isn't that painting with a bit too broad of a brush? In no short order, Estill County has had plenty of coaches who: worked the kids hard, yelled at the kids to play harder, play smarter etc., changed starting lineups, and disciplined players. In several posts, your tone is negative, if not bitter, and, your "points" vague and unsupported.

Though you call yourself "outside/in," you are suggesting that Coach Tiller left for reasons other than he said? It's always the same with the crud crowd: "politics and parents and principals is to blame." That's so tired, so easy, and so ridiculously unsupported as to make you funny.

Cave no axe with Estill Co. some very good people around and some very good young people there.. and not with crud people... just see what I see and know what i know... You see athletes in practice that do nothing and athletes in games that argue with the coach and the athlete continues to play...Are you kidding me Cave... are you sure you have been around to say they don't play favorites or they don't play who is who in the county?? Cave I believe you don't see what I see or know because your probably in the comedy show.. should I explain?? now I don't want to get mean or dirty... I just spoke my opinion from what i see and know.. I won't tell you lies.. Did they tell Tiller to sit out one year after the next senior class is gone and then come back??? now cave you tell me why did Tiller leave??? I would like to hear your information. Why do people think your negative when you speak what you know and have been told or seen by very reliable people?? Ok... No bashing ... I am sorry.. if it came across I was bashing I did not mean to... If you want info straight forward and I mean no bull just straight than ask me and I'll tell you what I know (fact) but if you want the sugar coated info then I guess ask someone else....Ok enough said... good luck John

From a very reliable source itself:
Tiller resigned on his own and had been thinking of doing so for a year - he just did not want to be perceived as a coach that jumped ship when a good run of talent graduated. Like many places Estill has problems I'm sure they contributed to his decision, but so did a young child, health problems, burnout, we can go on and on. I just don't know why we discuss a coach that resigned two months ago when a new one has been hired - good luck Jon Bentley.

"Politics" exists at every level of society, from the dinner table to the factory floor to the dividing up of property when "mamma and daddy" pass on. As for comedy shows, I read your posts. I take Coach Tiller at his word. Read back over your posts, my brother. Look at their overall gist. Now, wonder why folk might think you're negative? People in Estill County are no more or less "political" or biased toward their children than most anywhere else. Surely you know that. "You see what YOU see and know what YOU know"... that's just it. Perspective colors all we see and know, doesn't it? "What happened to you, man?" Personally, I'd say that'll answer a lot of questions.
