Any news on these two players? Any colleges interested?

I am hearing Cox is going to Transy. Not sure about Stamper.

I heard Tate Cox turned down an offer from Davidson (Southern Conference; where Stephen Curry played). I'm not sure how accurate that is.

^Really doubting that's true.

Hahaha, I heard they neither one have any good offers, I guess the extra years of high school basketball didn't really pay off. The Davidson scholarship is hilarious, are people really believing this?

Sources say that Cox is going to Transy and Stamper is going to Pikeville. Doors are both still open and playing in some all star games to get more colleges a look before committing. Both are trying out for the Ky all star team next weekend. Both will be fine.

They both will get something.

Wherever these boys go, it will be great. Very few get to go to the next level and play. I wish them both the best of luck.

I heard today after this thread was started that they have had several offers and each has visited colleges. Congratulations knott on a successful season and I am sure that they will sign somewhere. I am interested to see where they do end up.

I'm sure some colleges will be glad to get them. With Mullins from Perry Central and Josh Whitaker from Hazard going to Pikeville they will have a big recruiting year if they get Stamper too. And Cox can do well at Georgetwon.

Tate is a very good player and great kid, but you are talking about two TOTAL different levels of college.
Davidson is NCAA Division 1 which offers full athletic scholarships
Transylvania is NCAA Division III which does not offer any athletic scholarships.
Good luck to Tate where ever he ends up, he definitely has the ability to play at the next level.

I just love all the hate that the mountain kids get when they try to play it big! They are from the mountains so they cant play D-1!

Tate has no offer from Transy because like goodguy said, Transy does NOT offer athletic scholarships, and pikeville has already signed Whitaker, Whats taking Stamper so long if this rumor is true?

It's not haters is honesty!! You can name the number of D1 players to play major college bb form eastern ky on one hand over the past ten years. ( well maybe both) but the fact is the numbers don't lie. Nobody is hatn, it's just that some of you folks on here don't understand what it takes to play at that level.

Tate could have an academic offer or an institutional grant offer along with an offer to be on the basketball team. He will play at the next level, he is that good. Maybe not D1 but it will be at the next level.
I was not questioning the offer part, I was trying to tell Corey2 that his comments really did not make much sense due to the huge difference in levels of offers he said Tate was getting; D1 vs DIII.

Sure he has an offer. He has an offer that if he wants to come there and play ball that he can. They just dont just let anyone that wants to play ball there. They offer you the opportunity to play there.

I disagree. Tate and Stuart both are capable of playing at the next level. Im sure they both have offers. Davidson could also have been looking at tate at some point in his career, i mean he is one of the best in the mountains. Not the top player, not even top 10. But he;s up there and im sure he will have a good college career.

I attended the all-star games this weekend and heard that these two boys had a few offers and would choose in the next week. it would be nice to see one or both at Pikeville with Whitaker.
