Justice Steals Show at Derby Classic
#1
http://www.kentucky.com/2010/04/10/12190...assic.html

Elisha Justice's line tonight in the Derby City Classic: 12 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and a game high 4 steals.

He continues to show his nose for the ball on the defensive end with a game high 4 steals.

Congrats Elisha, way to make all eastern Kentucky proud. Sounds like you played great.

Is there a replay on TV?

His block when he was the defender of a 3-1 fast break was amazing.

I didnt get to see the game. But, I was on Catspause, and they made it sound as if Justice was trying his hardest, while everyone else kinda played around...

Everything you hear from now on is jealousy against Justice since he's for sure sticking with Louisville.

Did you ever think of the sourse you got your information from "The CATS Pause"? Elisha just turned down the UK Cats. Of course they are probably going to be against him.

Another good article. This is from the Louisville side and not THE CATS PAUSE, lol.

excert: "Justice, who drew several "oohs" and "ahhs" from the crowd with his ball-handling ability and surprising quickness, drew a standing ovation at one point during the big first half run after hustling down the court to break up a sure-fire score. He ended the game with 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists."

I watched the game and that's exactly what happened.

Here is the game for anyone else wanting to watch it.

A kid now gets bashed for playing hard. This is getting almost hilarious, lol.

Thank you! a Louisville Site saying good things? I wonder why? Overrated and will play the same amount Hood did this year.
I take that back. He will get more playing time than people thinks because Louisville Sucks and always will! :thanks:

Coming from a diehard UK fan, I have to say, Elisha showed pure point guard skills and really showed his defensive prowess. I do not understand half of the crazy people on "catspause" , it is almost frustrating to the point that I can not take it. Elisha performs night in and night out and if the other player may be half hearting it then he should not be talked down to for that.

way to go Justice!!!

So glad to see Justice do well. I look forward to watching him play for the Cards for the next four years, along with Phares from Scott Co. Knowles, from GRC will be a senior this year. SV fan get used to some bashing Justice just becasue he is a Card. They have done Knowles the same way. Personally I believe that Justice made the right choice for him and will support him for the next 4 years. Always glad to see Ky boys do well at the next level, no matter who they play for.

To me the high light of the game was the slame dunk contest. Coleman and Deng was out of sight in their dunk .

I wouldn't say he "stole the show" but he did play well. Smile

Elisha did awesome last night, I got to watch a couple min. of the game before I went out last night.

The coaches loved Elisha, so did the announcers.

You saying bad things? I wonder why... No, actually I don't wonder why. I know why... jealousy.

Justice played basketball last night, everyone else played all-star basketball last night.

Showed ability to shoot the ball well and make some great passes. Showed inability to finish around basket. Exactly the same way he played most of this season from the eight games or so I saw of him.

........And he was on the "winning team", just as he was for most of the season. I watched the game, I heard the comments, and I heard John Wall and CJ Leslie's high school coach say that " Of all the players he coached in this game, Elisha Justice impressed him the most." But, what does he know about talent.....right? Congratulations, Elisha.........you deserve it.

So he played to hard in your opinion?

I liked the "winning team" thing, would you be more impressed if he dunked it , but lost in the first round of region?

As much as I dislike Louisville, I hope Justice has a great career and lights it up except for about 4 games. He is an inspiration to lot of young players in our area and I am glad I had the pleasure to watch him play before I had to start cheering for his team to lose the next 4 years. A great high school career and a magical state tournament run make Justice a roll model for everyone who is told they are too short or not athletic enough. The pics of him in the eight grade on the BCI page show how hard he worked to get himself in shape to play D1 basketball. How can anyone say anything bad about him.

Great post man. I love the attention that he is getting. It is well deserved and goes to prove how much work Elisha has put in.

Of course he played his hardest. That is the way he plays, and that is what makes him special. I use to have to watch many of these All-Star games, and for the most part the only time anyone plays hard is when they have the ball in their hands. There never is any defense played, and it is really not encouraged. Fans want to see scoring and that is what they provide. Justice efffort was very very good, and he should not suprise anyone that understands the game. And many of you are right, do not look for UK fans to go out of their way to root for him. But you know that is just part of the game.....

I watched this game last night on WAZOO. I've been watching Justice play for years. He always plays hard, so why should he not play hard now. If he had just played around and slacked off then people would be complaining about that. I don't know why eastern Kentucky and especially the 15th region can't just be happy for the kid. I'm no Louisville fan, and would have rather seen him playing at UK. But Cal wasn't interested until he was named Mr. Basketball. That title didn't change his skills it only increased his stock to Cal and the Cats. Good Luck to Justice at Louisville. It's kinda nice to see a kid stick to his commitment.

I watched the replay and Elisha played a great game.

Good post. I agree with you about Elisha and the way he plays. I know some kids do tend to slack off in these types of games, but that's just not how he does it. It would be odd if we did see him out there mailing it in.

Good job Elisha, way to represent EKY. Hope you do very well at Louisville, but your team loses every game they play.

I want him to average 40 points a game but UL lose by 20. Truly he may get significant playing time, sooner than later. If Teauge does not come to Louisville then Elisha may be a HUGE factor in the teams long term plans.

strong jealousy in this thread. nothing new when its about elisha justice. for the record, in an all star game as big as the derby classic comes, and you were playing in it, why would you not play "hard". every kid played hard. no one wants to make themselves look worse. GET REAL. elishas just that good.

He even shows how good he is when he plays kids of D1 caliber. all i heard was "yea he does good around here but when he gets to louisville he'll ride the bench". :please:

seriously, how hard is it to just be happy for the kid and give credit to amazing talent? you all should get off your high horse. :dontthink
