If he doesn't there are other SEC schools that are taking a look at him. Chances are high that he will be at UK and I believe by his junior year he should be a contributor for the Cats. If not then he can be a contributor for another SEC school and still come play at Rupp.

Shelby Valley beat West Jessamine and won 2 state titles this year because Shelby Valley had a better TEAM than West Jessamine not because of the point guards. If Polson and Justice switched teams the results would be the same.
He scored 2 points last night in the KY-OH all star game, while Justice dropped 12 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals at the Derby Classic, which had much better talent than the KY-OH game.

I am not one to take much stock in an All Star games when the teams have little practice, very little emphasis on defense and the never ending politics of playing time.
My feelings on Polson and Justice are simply my opinion of both players after watching both of them play in multiple games. I am not an expert by any means but I have watched both of them enough to develop a personal opinion about them.
And before you try to say I am a Cat fan, I am far from it. I am a Dukie through and through.:1:

I would like to see Polston go to Georgetown, Ky. They have a great program.

you're right. valley did beat WJ because they had a better team.
and a better point gaurd.

Have to disagree man. His awards are too much and too many to show that Polson was the better pg.
04-13-2010, 07:32 AM
I guess that's true. Awards have never been awarded to the best player from the best team.

please gtfo this site. your jealousy of elisha and valleys success is just getting aggrevating.
for you to actually say polson is better, would have to be a biased/ignorant opinion. yes he may have scored 30 in the game against valley, but he was basically the only one doing anything for his team. elisha on the other hand scored just as much, while everyone else on the team scoring too.
Elisha's success outweighs any other point gaurds in the state. you all should actually be ashamed for trying to take away from that kids success and hard work.
but this is an opinion based site. and even stupid opinions are allowed. :eyeroll:

I think that your case is significant but not when you look at the ramifications in the award. Darius Miller had the best year all around was a key component for his team whereas Hopson was more of a one man show. And yes from that perspective, Polson very may end up being a better college player, but in now way at all did he have close to the year that Justice had. They are both amazing players and either way it goes, had a case for the Mr. Basketball award.

Looks like Polson will end up a Cat, because all things are pointing toward him walking-on.
04-13-2010, 03:52 PM
I think the difference is the walk on spot was there for Justice, and he wanted a scholarship. Polson knows he might get one later, and is happy with walking on at UK. When do you think that Justice will get his scholarship at UL?

My fault. I didn't realize that in order for me to stay on this site that I had to say that Elisha Justice is better than Jarrod Polson. Guess I'll be leaving........but before I go read my posts again. Nowhere have I said he Justice isn't a great basketball player. I said I(meaning me) like Polson better and I think he has more upside. I said Shelby Valley had a better team than West Jessamine, which they did and that if you put Polson on Shelby Valley and Justice on West Jessamine the end result would be the same. Quit being so sensitive when someone says they like Polson better than Justice. Just because someone forms their own opinion without your help doesn't make it a stuid opinion. In 3-4 years we can address this conversation and see where both of them. Hopefully both of them will be solid contributors at UL and UK. They are both Ky boys and I hope they both succeed. Don't you?

You should've known this site is bias towards all mountain teams. That's the way it works. You can't voice your own opinion without raising speculation from others. Polson was my favorite from the two. This site with it's biased tendencies ruined me wanting Justice to succeed. That's sad to say, but it's true. In no way are most of the participants on this site open-minded enough for someone to have another view. It's their way or no way....
04-13-2010, 06:10 PM
In MY opinion ..... Emphasis on "MY"...... Polson outplayed Justice h2h in the state tourney. YES, I know which TEAM was better. The best of the 2 teams was SV...the best of the 2 guards was Polson. MY opinion ONLY!

Just because someones opinion isn't the same as yours doesn't make them wrong or stupid. Maybe your opinion is the one that wrong and stupid. It's "ok" for someone not to agree with you. That's what make these sites great. You get biased and unbiased opinions and facts. Some you mag like, some yoh may not. If you can't handle that....then maybe you need to gtfo this site!!!
04-13-2010, 06:24 PM
Furthermore....maybe your biased opinions of Justice and Valley's success is getting aggravating

I have seen these debates on other UK web sites. But with all jokes aside J.Polson is a Ky boy with a dream of playing for his favorite team, UK. It does not matter who is the best, who JP is better than. I always said we should keep the best players in Ky instate playing for Ky schools.I am a UK fan. If EJ MR BASKETBALL is satisfied going to UL I am a UL fan also. Let these kids dreams come true. I hope they finish one and two in the tourny every year. patino already proved he could take a team of KY boys to the top. My favorite COACH CAL needs to recruit all KY boys to see what he can do. Good luck Polson, I hope UK makes your dreams come true. Give him a scholarship coach CAL. GO BIG BLUE. GO KY TEAMS #1 UK , #2 UL , #3 WKU , #4 MURRAY , #5 EKU , #6 Morehead state....................

....... I love UK and Elisha but I still do not think that I can root for them to win any game unless it has certain indications. I will root for my schools, UK and Shelby Valley. I will always root for Elisha at UL but not for UL

Polson to make an announcement at 3:45 today. Down to UK or Liberty...
04-27-2010, 05:27 PM
Polson picks UK as a walk-on. I love the move by Cal. It can not hurt to have a kid like him on the team. One that the state will be able to always root for and will hopefully push the players in practice.

At the very least I expect him to be a contributor by his senior year. I'll be surprised if he never gets off the bench during his 4 years as a Cat. He'll definitely help the team GPA out tremendously. Could end up being an All Academic SEC selection at some point.

Would love to see that happen. I think that he is going to be a great kid to push the players in practice and make the team a little deeper.

True. I also don't think that while he is there that anyone on that team will embrace being a Kentucky Wildcat like Jarrod Polson will.

Coach Calipari is on record saying he doesn't believe in walk on's, this is all about political pressure all the way from the top' but who knows maybe it will work out anyway!
04-29-2010, 07:55 AM
When you can recruit the way Cal does, you do not need to bring in Walk-ons or transfers. I wish they would not have brought in Dodson.

What do you do when someone saids do it or you don't get my money. It is hard to please everyone, and I hope that alumnist isn't that way.
