I'm EKY also...but H.E...double hockey stick. Just look four threads below this one. It's the SAME! Merge them at least.

If I could I would. But really, if anyone is upset over it, nobody is forcing them to look at the threads. And if it's making someone that mad that it's being discussed, walk away from the computer and go outside.

WTFE...man....I mean 5 of the first 7 threads are all about the same things. Don't you think that is just a little over the top. I mean...heck I'm just as excited as the next guy. BUT, I don't need 5 threads to talk about it.

Don't open the thread. Simple as that. Simple internet logic since day 1. If something on the internet upsets you, don't bother with it. Horrible things are on the internet, they upset me, so I don't look at them.

Man, you just don't get it. All you see is F'ing blue and WILL NOT see the logic here. NO-ONE is hacking on your SV. Just trying to clean the thread forum up a little. IF this was any other team....trust me...you would be one of the FIRST...to say the same thing or even more. So quit trying to justify ALL these trheads about the same D.A.M.N. thing! OK!

You know brother. I'm from Pike County and I have to say that I agree with Hook. WHY all these threads? It makes no sense.
The reason he is blowing up on you is because you will just not listen to anything constructive anyone has to say to you. Especially when it comes to Valley. Everyone from here knows how you are....who's ban wagon will you be on next year?
I see what you are saying Hook. To many threads about the same thing cluttering up the forum page. I wish someone would go and clean it up a bit myself.

Wow, I said myself we don't NEED it. Did everyone just ignore that? I don't care one bit if it's cleaned up and every post of it is deleted. But seriously, you all don't have to look at it.
What other high school team have I ever liked? Hmm...none.
Wow, this is way off topic, I'm done talking about it.

All I was trying to say is to please clean the page up to where you don't see all these threads about the same thing. Just taking up space.

I said two weeks ago that it would be Shelby Valley and Ballard in the Sweet 16 Championship. Cha-ching. However, I was wrong about the overall outcome of the game. I knew Shelby Valley was the best team, but I underestimated their greatness overall. I was there from Thursday until the final award was given Saturday night. Valley truly felt they would win it and they did. When EJ looked over at us and nodded his head (saying, we've got them, thank you Lord!) I knew the Wildcats had the gold. By the way, that was a good two hours before the ending of the game. I want EJ, Ashley and all the guys to know, I am proud of you all. Not for just proving to all you are the best team in KY, but that many of you are good young men who love Jesus Christ, are respected and you will continue to be blessed. I pray EJ will be a light unto Pitino and teach him about what life while Pitino helps EJ gain life experiences and basketball know-how. This very entry was the main reason I started posted on here back in December 2009. Congrats Wildcats, you make of proud in more ways that one. God bless!

After state tournament I predict it will be hard to vote for anybody other than Justice.

loubballfan Wrote:I wasn't talking about prestige, just about the quality of teams that had to be beaten to win and your logic doesn't hold up since, with the present format, only one team can get out of a region with multiple top 20 teams while another region can send a team not ranked in the top 50.The Sweet 16 is much like the NCAA tournament except on a bigger scale. Yes there were multiple top 20 teams that didn't get out of their region, but just like any other tournament... You lose and you go home. Every team in the state of Kentucky competed for the State Title and Shelby Valley proved to be the best. Did every team in the state get a chance to win the King of the Bluegrass? Every team except Shelby Valley was eliminated in Kentucky's postseason play.
No way can a logical basketball person claim that the state tourney was more difficult to win than the LIT or KOB!

Had Mr. Basketball been voted on after the State then Justice would have run away with it. But it was done a couple of weeks ago, and I look for Paulson.....
03-22-2010, 11:10 AM
I look for Sewell to win if its true that the voting was done prior to the state tourney...but Justice is more deserving after the state tourney performance.imo
03-22-2010, 11:53 AM
There should be no reason why Justice doesn't win the award. I wish he would change his mind and come to UK.

I personally would vote for EJ but i am telling you that with watching all the games in tourney EJ is right there and Paulson isn't far behind him and Childs from Ballard just might have inside shot at it but any of the 3 wouldn't not be a bad choice!!Justice is just a winner and thats something you can't teach ,Paulson is a player and i mean a player he showed all Rupp what he could do and they gave him his standing hand clap, and i must say i did also even in loosing he was a star!! Great Sweet 16,so glad i gotta watch them perform!!
03-22-2010, 02:52 PM
what everyone on this thread doesn't seem to realize is that the sweet sixteen has nothing to do with mr.basketball.. the voting had already been done by the time the sweet sixteen was played.. i agree after the preformance justice put on at rupp he should hands down be mr.basketball. But since the voting was done BEFORE idk if he will win it or not

I think the ballots should be (if they are not) cast before the State Tournament. Justice is a very deserving candidate, but so are some other players in the state. You can't base Mr. Basketball on winning the State Tournament. More times than not, the best player doesn't play on the best team. That being said, I don't think you can give it to someone who plays on a bad team. More times than not, a good player on a bad team is going to have better stats, because he has to do everything for his team. I didn't get to see Holmes or Trinity play this year and I only saw Shelby Valley in the State Tournament, so I really don't have a vote. All I can say is, we should have a strong Kentucky All-Star Team.
03-22-2010, 04:45 PM
I think EJ proved to everyone he is the best player in the state. What an outstanding performance by Justice he was unstoppable. If he doesnt win Mr. Basketball then its a joke.
03-22-2010, 06:10 PM
I hope Justice does get Mr Basketball, but it is sometimes hard for kids from Eastern Kentucky to get the votes from other parts of the state. GOOD LUCK JUSTICE !!!

TrinitySID Wrote:I won't disagree with anything you say except for the consistency thing. It takes some people forever to admit they are wrong. Maxpreps just came out with a new state ranking. They had to move SV up from #18 to #3, they still had Ballard and Scott Co, I think it was rated above them, after SV winning the State Championship. I wonder if they ever was so wrong in their ranking history?
Please take a look at Mr. Justice's stat line for the All A finals.
If you are basing it on consistency through the entire season, Mr. Sewell outweighs him in that category.
Sewell not only performed well in EVERY game he played, but stepped up even bigger in the finals of the major tournaments and against rivals districts teams in one of the nation's ten toughest districts/regions in the 27th Distirct as noted by CalPreps.com (through MaxPreps).
SV's margin of victory over this years 36 game season was 858, figuring out to 23.6 rounded off to margin of victory. You may say, and probably will SV faced lesser opponents, possibly this is so. Still the disparity to ANY OTHER TEAM IN THE STATE is so great this argument is without merit, no one is within a 200 point differential. What I am eventually getting to is the fact Elisha's team won so easily all year round he did not put up the numbers he could have, his team won so easily all year long including the Sweet 16 he did not have to put up the ALL STAR numbers he could have, but when he was needed he was there. He carried the team to the 2010 State Championship. GO 'BULLET'

Dude you are like a fun nazi. I mean really if the mods feel like it is getting redundant then they can remove it. So please let people enjoy the fact that they have a team of mountain boys who are best friends, play team ball, are Christians, hard working and have the best player in the state. So please if you do not agree and it annoys you just refrain from raining on others pride of this team.

I want to enjoy it also! I just like messin with PC mostly...LOL
I'll leave him alone though. These boys have done a great thing. And I hope to God EJ wins this award. Cause he deserves it more than anyone. I think: Just because of his work ethic, on court attitude, off court attitude, his love of the game and his on court Leadership! Best player in the state IMO!

Like everyone has said, I really hope that somehow and someway, Cal comes in and encourages Elisha to come to UK and keep the "Kentucky boy" tradition going.
