This is great.
Mr.Basketball?

The only problem I have from that article is--"Justice is one of the leading candidates for Mr. Basketball"

Totally not true!

So who are the leaders? One of Holmes' players who had one flop of a year? Sewell who is sitting at the house while Elisha is still making it happen? Yes they are up there, and are in the group of "leaders" for the award, but Elisha is one of the leaders whether you people like to admit it or not.

congrats

Congrats to Elisha.

Not only is Elisha a leading candidate for Mr. basketball, I believe he is now THE leading candidate over all. Cases can be made for others, but he's earned it.
#14
You people just dont get it. Where is he going to college at? Name all the other Mr B that went to Lville! Oh wait, theres not any!
#15
Looks to me like all of the past winners of the gatorade award were also Mr Basketball?
go ahead and give Elisha Mr Basketball and enjoy watching him play on Saturday night
he is a special player, no matter where he is from
if your from the "city" get over it, Elisha can play with anyone in the country
#16
There's been talk of Coach Cal looking at him too, don't know if it's for scholarship or someone to take Krebs place as walk on, but would be nice to see him walk on for UK instead of the Ville.

Yea Right!!!

He should have a shot on saturday night to show he is the best in Kentucky. If they beat Scott County or Ballard on Saturday night, he is a lock for Mr. B in Ky. Period!

I guess you are in disagreement with all the major media outlets in KY, since all of them have Elisha as one of the top 4-5 contenders for Mr. Basketball this year. But what do they know, right? Rolleyes

And I guess the rest of us must have missed that often-forgotten clause in the official criteria for Mr. Basketball: "thou shalt not play ball for Louisville".

Anyway, I would like to congratulate Elisha on a great accomplishment! Even if he does not win Mr. Basketball (which I hope he does), he has still had an amazing career at Shelby Valley. Hopefully he will cap it off by playing on Saturday in Rupp!

To correct you a little bit RavenBoy, all these Mr. Basketball's went to UL.

1964 Wes Unseld, 1965 Butch Beard, 1973 Wesley Cox, 1976 Darrell Griffith, 1985 Tony Kimbro.

Congrats EJ.

Along with:

1990 Dwayne Morton
1992 Tick Rogers
1993 Jason Osborne

Just another in a long line of things that RavenBoy is incorrect about...

Congrats to EJ for being the state winner. Out of all the players in the nation, to be one of the 50 winners recognized by Gatorade is a huge accomplishment. I'm not sure of the exact statistics, but winning this award has also launched some people into winning Mr. Basketball. J.R. VanHoose won this award in 1997 and 1998, which also led to him winning Mr. Basketball. You have to like his chances for winning Mr. Basketball even more after this.

I just don't understand why he'd rather walk on, get ZERO playing time at Lville, and have to pay for his education, then play for some OVC school and probably be a solid player on a full scholly

I dunno if you've been under a rock, but Elisha wants to be a coach, and Pitino has a pretty good track record of producing solid coaches.

I can agree with that. No matter what the young mans future goals ae, this is the last four years of his basketball playing days. Enjoy them.
