I said it in the prediction thread as well as right after the Holmes vs Newport game, other than Demarco Foster, Newport would struggle handling the pressure that CC would apply. I was not there but I got several message tonight that told me that was exactly the case. Newport has no reason to hang there heads, great season for the Wildcats and nobody can complain with a 9th region championship win over the team that they share the licking river with. Good season to all those guys, and great run.... As for CC the road wont get any easier from here... With the all out style of basketball they play and the athletes they have they should make the rest of this tourny interesting but we shall see...

First off I have no dog in this game...just my own observations. Christian County is not in the mountains so I have no idea what the above poster is talking about. Second, I thought Newport got some terribly bad calls that really broke their backs, when the game was fairly close. Two examples was when a CC player stumbled took three steps and hit a layup....how do officials not see that? Also a goaltending call against Newport that was just terribly bad. With that said Christian County was fun and very exciting to watch. They were the better team last nite. Newport just didnt take care of the ball.

Wow, maybe the Holmes game Newport played was the game of their lives. A lot of people were making Newport title contenders, I thought they'd preform better than this.

Foster had 8 turnovers, it was the whole team.
The times Newport did break the press they got a lay-up but good season by Newport it was fun to watch you guys.
