I do not see South Floyd or Allen Central being competitive in region.........one might be R/U in the 58th though because P-burg is going to be down also.

Pikeville, Shelby Valley, Johnson Ct., Paintsville

Top ten is basically everybody, district wise, 57th-Johnson Central, 58th-Betsy Layne, 59th-Shelby Valley, 60th-Belfry. Next years 15th region champs comes from this group. I myself will go ahead and pick SV in the 3-peat.

hows Paintsville looking? They have any talent freshman coming in?
03-10-2010, 02:44 PM
Some of you guys picking JC has got me scratching my head..........
IMVHO they were the 2nd most talented team in the region and will be the most talented next year, but what in the past 10 years gives you any clue that they can fix all their problems?
They are the largest school in the 15th Region by a LOOOOOONG shot and have failed to make the region tourney a few times since 97/98.

I agree with your top three I may also add East Ridge into that group. The talent will be much more balanced so coaching will be a big factor. These four teams Belfry, LC, ER, and BL have very solid coaching.
The rest of the group has issues at the head coach in one sense or another. Sounds like from the rumor mill that Shelby Valley,Sheldon Clark, and Pike Central could have new coaches next year. Should be much more interesting next year.

I'm as big an SV fan as anyone on here, but I don't see any earthly way they would win the region next year. Honestly, I'm not even sure they will even make it out of the district, as one could argue that both Pikeville and East Ridge return more talent than Valley.
SV is at least 2 more years away from competing for the regional title again.

for one i see johnson central having the talent to win region next year. hh:we lost our point guard, which will hurt, but we have couple kids could step in by 4 or 5 games. also we of course have jk hall returning, the best athelete in the school, not the best player, but pure athelete. just has to much pressure from someone besides coach, if that lets up he could be dangerous. next we have tate salyer who finished very strong this year, gonna be tuff to handle with his inside outside game. last 4 or 5 games he scored double digits. he scored 22 in a losing effort against sc:Clap: then we have the one everyone talks about, cody parker, if cody would just realize whats at stake for him, and play team as well as rest of the boys , we would close to what valley was this year. i believe if they play together, like coach says, they will be dangerous. sit down the ones that don't and play the kids that want a chance.if not another disappointing season.:igiveup:

JC won region in 05-06 didnt make the next year made it to the region championship the next and gave SV a run for their money in the semi's last season. They will be there again before long and make a run if they get things in order!!!

the Isom Kid that moved to the Paintsville school system . What type of player is he going to be .

Next year we will be a solid .600 team nothing like the glory days but better than the last 2. If tiller stays we might get one year of being awesome before mediocreness strikes again.

I will go ahead and say Betsy Lane. I was really impressed with them in the region. I will say that the region has two years to recover before Valley has another stellar group.

Belfry has two seniors they will be one of the best teams in it next year.

JC with Hall healthy and Parker playing like big Cuz would still not come within 20 of SV.

I was not aware that BL is lossing so many players. So with that I am going to change my opinion to Belfry.
03-15-2010, 11:34 PM
BL loses a lot, but return three of their starters with plenty of help coming off the bench and some new freshman up to help-out. They'll challenge for the Region again.
I see Adkins being one of, if not, the best big-man in the region.

How many players is S. Valley losing??
03-16-2010, 09:00 AM
Johnson County returns Cody Parker, JK Hall, Tanner Bratton and Tate Salyer that started at one time or another. Matt Gallagher played a lot this year. Chad Collins will see playing time. Shane Hall should step in and help right away. On paper that will be as good as any one in the region. Probably will go deeper than most teams.
03-17-2010, 09:44 PM
I Predict Betsy Layne to be a contender for Regional title. Derek Tackett, Nathan Martin, Casey Adkins, Tyler Reznick, Andrew Roberts. With a bench of talent!
03-18-2010, 12:00 AM
Yeah, I look for Roberts to step up and be a big contributor next season.
