LCA has only lost to Lex Cath by a score of 52-14. They have beaten a good Desales (38-19), Corbin (42-30), Fairview (28-14), and Beechwood (43-20)
This will be a very good game. It will go to the team that doesn't beat themselves since they're pretty much even.

Man I hope you are all correct.
I will be at this one, and I will hand out a million BGR fliers.
I have no clue about LCA, so I can't possibly say anything about them, that being said, I will be ecstatic to pull out the victory.
I want Coach Schneider to get at least one more championship before he rides off into the sunset.
NCC looked awfully good Friday night against Bellevue, the passing game is clicking and Vicars is running like he hasn't all year.
The D is tough and quick. I just hope we can take this one down. I really need a trip to Da Ville!

Where in the world was LCA 4or5 years ago? I wonder if any of the Lex. schools will stop playing them soon in all sports? Looks like the public-private debate will continue to be an issue. To knock off Beechwood wow!

This statement speaks volumes. Quiet determination will lead to somewhere.
Normally, I spend my time trying to find ways to beat NCC. The current situation is a little "new" to me.
I have learned to dislike LCA and their constant bragging, taunting, running up the score, etc. They win one game against a solid team (that was WAY DOWN) this season--and they think that they are the Green Bay Packers.
With all due respect--they are very good. But NCC is GREAT against the run. Plus, offensively--they should physically manhandle LCA.
I hate to admit it--but I want NCC to roll--HUGE.

I never thought that I would be in a position where I actually want NCC to win (I found myself in this same position earlier this year with Bellevue).
The LCA people (on some of the other sites) keep talking about "preparation" and "talent" and how much better they are in regard to talent. I am not real sure that I agree at this point. I do have a feeling about a few things:
1. If NCC scores on their first drive--LCA will come right back--like they have awoken from a deep sleep and score. Everytime I have seen them this season (5 games in person--10 on film) they have scored immediately following a TD from the opponent. If they can keep this up--they have a chance to win.
2. If LCA has to run pole cat--then they KNOW that they are not good enough to beat NCC. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
3. If NCC can run successfully--it will open up the passing lanes in ways that they haven't imagined (since the Dayton game anyways).
4. If NCC goes into this game with any preconceived ideas that they can run with LCA--they are in trouble. 13 is fast--but just remember--22 and 2 are faster/quicker/shiftier than he is.
5. Scramblin' Sammy MUST be part of the game plan. Not SLINGIN' SAMMY--but SCRAMBLIN' SAMMY. Sam Diehl is much more dangerous with his legs than his arm (hint--key to numerous Beechwood wins over NCC).
6. If LCA realizes that Sammy locks on to one receiver--they win.
Personally, I think if anyone of these things happens--that team could win.
NCC is much better from player 1 to player 50. I just wonder about their game plan. A solid coaching staff can figure out this offense in a short period of time. If LCA has done their homework (and if their coaching staff is as good as the LCA people say), then they have a chance. But here is my prediction:
NCC 49

Are you going to the game tonight?
Our "incomplete" staff is heading over to this game. And for the record--it stinks not having the "big game" that we have had the last few years. I hope that the atmosphere is close (for the sake of the kids).
Also--if there are some "directed" questions in regard to LCA--I would be more than happy to fill in the blanks.

Yep, I will be there. Going to eat with some friends around 5:45 then be there about 6:45 or so, I hope it's packed to the gills, last week was. You're right the kids deserve it. I'm sure Lex Christian travels well.

Paul Rains has actually been at LCA for 4 seasons (I think) now. Now, they were not very good before Rains, but he defintiely has had an impact. I don't think that they had a quick turnaround since Rains has arrived--I think that they have a great plan in place for success. We circled LCA last year and knew that they were going to be good (regardless of the score of our game last year). The talent that they have is extremely solid--however--they lose it all this season. I am not at the point where I am extremely worried about their future in 1A. They have a plan in place to be successful--but it is hard to have Danville, Mayfield, Beechwood, NCC, Pikeville talent every year. Time will tell there.
In regard to Rains--he has been around. He was a Coordinator/Head Coach at Hazard for a while. He was also head coach at Montgomery County (who handed my first coaching assignment a huge upset in the first round of the playoffs in 1994). He has a solid pedigree of success. But to the dismay of the LCA people--I am already hearing rumors that the is ready to head somewhere different. Time shall tell there as well. I think he also spent time at Madison Southern (or Central)--they always confuse me.
Rains has also been known to run some crazy offenses during his tenure. That makes him interesting to some, a genius to others and yet still--desperate to a different population. There have been some interesting rumors about LCA. For instance: Tyrell Hayden just "happened" to come to LCA from Montgomery County. Their FB/ILB also came from somewhere for the specific purpose of playing for Rains. That is there right (I am not in favor of the split by the way), but it does raise some flags. (Especially after the new Lex Cath thing that just broke--the athletic department paying for athletes tuition, etc--keep your eyes open for this one).
I think that LCA has some solid kids--and that they were building for this season. So far, it has worked out. But, at this point, I don't see sustained success. Even with their solid future planning.

I will say this:
*NCC has the defensive personel to completely shut down the pass
*NCC has the D-line to create a massive pass rush
*NCC just needs to play with the same thought process as last week. Even though Bellevue was a "running" team--the running game is actually more important to LCA. Simply because it sets up their passing game (and the QB can wing it--but he would rather run as well).
I am not good with definitive answers. I would feel bad if I told you: NCC stops the run = victory. If the LCA coaching staff is as good as people think--they will go away from an 80% tendency. (Epecially when they run to their motion--which happens nearly every play that is a run--when there is no motion--think pass--95% of the time).
Hopefully--this makes you feel better: YOUR CHANCES ARE WELL ABOVE AVERAGE!
