Pikeville brings in about 50-60 freshmen per year. Most usually end up leaving, the average Sophomore football class at Pikeville is about 10-15. Hopefully with the local recruiting they can start to get a bigger Sophomore returning class.
#45
got told that newhouse from knott co is gonna be signing with pikeville

I talked to one kid that they want and the thing is with tuition being what it is what they are offering him athletic wise and academicaly it still leaves 15 grand a year for the kid's parents to come up with.

I think if theses kids come in and can sustain a place on the roster for 4 years and make good grades while doing that that they should be a big cut in tutition for student athletes..Just my 2 cents worth.

is it hard to get a scholarship to pikeville college

cavery59 Wrote:is it hard to get a scholarship to pikeville college

Its hard to get a scholarship anywhere and takes hard work.
#52
PC_You_Know Wrote:It's only like 22K a semester to go to Pikeville.

Is that a semester or per year? So what you are saying if they have a two semester year as most colleges it cost $44,000. to go to Pikeville?
#53
all-or-nothing Wrote:I'm pretty sure none of these student athletes are going to reveal what kind of football scholarship money they received from PC. But, you can rest assured, if they didn't want to be at PC or get a good enough deal, they wouldn't be. The list of players Coach Johnson and staff have recruited is impressive....most of them could play at the college level at several different colleges.

And, PC quotes cost of attendance at 22 K per YEAR, not semester. That price includes tuition, dorm room, books, etc. everything.
Congrats to all these players and their families. Hard work pays off!

Thanks for clearing that up. I had not read your post before I posted.:thanks:

Anthony Newhouse from Knott County Central is going to Play at Pikeville next year also
#55
I heard mr. football nominee Ryan Wilson QB from Dixie Heights is signing at pikeville soon.
#56
Seeing all of these young men sign with Pikeville College is a dream come true. For years i have watched countless talented players all but ignored by schools including Pikeville.
By signing Kentucky kids they are getting great talent, building a larger fan base and I feel setting themselves up to become a future small college powerhouse.
Georgetown, Centre, Union and Comberland has been beating teams with Kentucky kids for years. Glad to see Pikeville get on board
#57
From my count around 30 kids incoming from KY, not counting those from other states.
#58
Good luck to Wes Ray from East Ridge. Not only a great player, but a great person as well.
#59
Congrats Wes! My son was at the Pikeville camp last summer and Wes was really good to him. My son was an 8th grader and Wes helped him fit in with the high school boys. He is a fine young man.

Kyle Hall and Dillon Tackett also signed with them.......Not to bad that Valley puts 5 on one team
