14th Region Coaches: Going Or Staying?
#31
foreverUK Wrote:Doug Noble leaves go's to Letcher Central takes his 4 sons plus his asst. coach Larry Hensley's Son, and Kyle Huff his Nephew go's to PCC along with Kendell Noble his neice PCC or LCC. You heard it here first.

they all will end up at Letcher, Huff's dad is a 1st cousin to Whitaker. Kendra with this group of girls would be a state contender. Watched Dougs 8th grade son in the state tournament, he's pretty good, throw in Whitakers nephew that played on Whitley 8th grade team (ave 32 points) a game in the state tournament and the future looks bright for LCC.

I hope you guys are right, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

If LCC looks for a coach. I would hope that they don't hire a coach based on how good their son might become. It would not surprise me at all though.

If that was the case they would not have let Justice leave or whatever happened to him. Because his son is one of top middle school kids in E.Ky.

But I would like to know what Noble has ever accomplished at the high school level as a coach to be considered for the job other than having a son that is good. Just asking I have no clue.

LCC would be making another mistake if they resort to Coach Noble.

He had a young team this year that struggled which is a lame excuse for a losing record.

But things will be better next year without him.

First of all he did not make the schedule, the previous coach did. Now that he knows the players and the players know what he expects from them look for the program to be right at the top of the region next year.

ive heard/saw where someone said that the new coach at Estill is gonna have many years under his belt as a head coach and is a former Head Coach at Estill. ive also heard something about a certain coach but agreed not to post and that came from someone who talked to this coach

Exactly what i was going to say!

Don't know for sure, but it wouldn't suprise me one bit if Dave Fraley is not the next superintendent of Pulaski County. Their current one is resigning June 30th.

First of all I said nothing about the schedule. But it is good that he is making the schedule maybe he can drop Hazard, Corbin, and PCC and pick up Red Bird, Oneida Baptist, and Riverside. Because I guess your first sentence meant that the schedule was too hard.

He might want to focus on being at the top of the district before shooting for the goal of top of region.

Correct - you said nothing about the schedule, but you made the ridiculous statement that having a young team is a lame excuse for having a losing record. LCC was only blown out in 2 games this year. Corbin beat them by around 20 or 22, and KCC beat them handily the 2nd time they played. Every other game was close and competitive, including a 4 point loss to KCC in the district tourney.

Also - lets see - top of the district this year. Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't top of the district also mean top of the region since most people have Knott at the top of the region.

Now having said this - Hammonds made a couple of mistakes IMO that cost LCC some wins. One was trying to press to much with this young team, and his choice for a point guard.

I see all of this happen but don't think Huff will go to LCC because of the QB position at LCC think he will end up at PCC because he can play QB but a good bet Kendall ends up at LCC and the rest is just about a sure thing if Hamm. their current coach leaves. Talk with Kendell the other night and she about sure she won't be back in Bobcat land.

I agree 100% but you know how it works but just about 99% sure that Huff will end up at PCC as QB and heard Hatcher say he could step right in where Chris Noble for next yr. He said this when he watch the Breathitt and Wolfe game during the reg. season when Huff got 25pts. and also don't count out Kendell coming to PCC either don't care what the rest around here say, but facts is facts.

Nobel is Huffs uncle-----If Hammonds leaves and they hire Nobel---Basketball
Whitaker and Huffs dad are 1st cousins and are very tight played together
in high school,They already have a place at the lake.---Football
Kendra on this Letcher team would be hard to keep out of Bowling Green
see alot of talent getting ready to end up at Letcher County

Hammonds isn't going anywhere! He will have a top 5 team next year and the schedule will be just as tough.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. But I do know that 8 of his 17 losses were by double digits. And they were 2-6 in games decided by 5 points blame it on coaches or players not executing that is open for opinions.

I guess my biggest problem is getting rid of a coach with back to back district championships, back to back 20 games winning seasons and regional semifinals appearances. For a coach that led us to #4 seed in the district.

He is making over 70k to lead us to a #4 seed. He has very little involvement in the youth program and it looks as he has zero interest in staying around for long. This is more of a stepping stone for him to get another raise whether it be from Letcher County or whoever will hire him.

Of course that is my opinion only maybe the majority of the fans want him around for 3-4 years but he want to try some training in personal skill development or most fans will be tired of him quickly. Or at least start winning.

I have read alot of your quote this year and to me it seems like you just have it in for this guy for something what I have watch this year it seems like he has done alot of good at Breathitt since he has took over but it does take time to rebuild a team any where you are at
#53
The problem in Breathitt County is that we have plenty of talent in athletics but politics seems to drive all of the talent out of the county. I hope this isn't the case with the Noble family.

Hey
Does anyone want Hall from PCHS? He has only won 16 games in two years. Please make room for him somewhere.

Yeah. With the abundance of talent that Powell has had the past two years, I would have expected them to have won two straight state titles.

First off Hammonds social skills are just fine. He is active in the comunity and I know for a fact that his family and he have made many good friends here. He is social, it is not their fault that you choose to bad mouth him instead of giving him a chance. The fact that Raymond was cut had nothing to do with him so stop hating on him cause of this.

Ask the players and you will see the truth about him. That is who is important to him and his family. The way it should be. Excuse him if he chooses to not speak with those who only want to complain and bash because of playing time or the system that he is trying to build which has proven to make it all the way to a final 4 state game.

If LCC runs this coach off it will be a big loss to them.

With Christian Brewer and company this year they should have won more games than what they did and should go farther in the Region than what i know they will!

I guess some people expectations of a first year coach is way up there, especially when we lost our entire starting lineup last year. Give this coach some time. Letcher Co needs to learn patience.

I think you are right there but alot of school needs to learn patience not just Letcher Co. most school wants it all right then and now they dont want to wait and it takes time to build a team.
