Top 5 Point Guards in the state?
#1
Who are the top 5 point guards in the state..I'm not talking about based on curtain stats..I mean an all around point guard with great speed, agility, and ability to get to the rim any time..Also a good passer and ball handler.
#2
Too many good point guards in the state to come up with a legit top 5.

IMO the following kids could all be put in to the top 5 and you couldn't go wrong with any:

Jaylen Beckham- Lexcath
Jordan Shanklin- Warren Central
Elisha Justice- Shelby Valley
Delquan Thomas- Eastern
Thomas Jackson- J'town
Ryan Fucci- Tates Creek
D'Carlo Hayes- Male
Jarred Polson- West Jessamine
Travis Johnston- Grayson Co
Jordan Gilbert- Mason Co
Kellen Smith- Scott
Mike Gabbard- Boone Co
Grant Pangallo- Newcath
Reginald Breeden- Moore (Very underrated kid)

Isn't one of Holmes' main problems the lack of a good PG?

1A.Elisha Justice
1B.Jaylen Beckham
1C.Delquan Thomas
2A.Jordan Shanklin
2B.Thomas Jackson

That would be my top 5.

Huh? What does this post have to do with this thread?

Why would you bold D'Carlo Hayes and then mention Holmes?

Holmes has a Hayes, but D'Carlo Hayes that I mentioned is from Male.

Honestly, my bad, I was looking at two threads at once and thought it said Holmes.

We PCC has been all over the state this yr. playing and seen most of these players but you have to put Hickey from Christain Co. in there might be the best I've seen this yr. Speed, ballhandling, shooting, defense great ballplayer.
#11
Surprised to see Jordan Gilbert (Mason Co.) getting some love on this thread. Not because it's not deserving, but because he's underrated. Justice is on the list, just not at #1. I'll take:

1. D'Carlo Hayes
2. Thomas Jackson
3. Elisha Justice
4. Jaylen Beckham
5. Jordan Gilbert
#12
Yeah I agree with heaven44..Hickey from Christian County has to be in my top 5..He has to be on the list of the best in the state...Maybe it is not where he is a senior and he dont get enough recognition..This kid is just a junior..Aggressive,plays hard, and a real good defensive player..The kid has heart.

But I still think Justice is the all around point guard in the state..He can steal the ball when he wants(currently holds record in state at that)..He's fast, great ball handler, passes the ball really well..Can get to the rim and draw a foul anytime because of his size..And a great defender..IMO he is the best in the state. And probably this year's Mr.Basketball.

I agree, Hickey is a great player!

Will Skaggs of Ashland is not flashy but is the backbone of his team.

2. Ryan Fucci - Tates Creek
3. D'Carlo Hayes - Male
4. Elisha Justice - Shelby Valley
5. Jaylen Beckham - Lexington Catholic

No discredit as the kid is obviously a nice player but as I've been on here multiple times and stated, he doesn't get those steal numbers playing in the
7th, 9th or 11th and NO WAY he is ahead of Sewell or Chad Jackson in the Mr. Basketball if the voters are TRULY looking for the kid who has played the best for his team against the best KY has to offer.

SV could potentially reach the final game at Rupp and they would still be only 2-1? against top 20 teams versus Sewell and Jackson playing against at least 10 top twenty teams.

I knew when you posted the OP that this was yet another, "Valley fan, Justice is the best in the state" thread, just waiting on you to post again to prove me right.

Some good choices. Jarrod Polson is the truest point guard though. Best decision maker and ball handler in the state and can\will score as needed but doesn't jack up 100 shots a game just to get points. Nobody in the state gets his teammates involved more than him and totally unselfish.

But he's not one of the main Valley posters on this site. Some just get on here to start trouble.

Yes, I know that. I just knew that was where he was heading the thread though.
#24
Jaylen Beckham is the top PG in the state
#25

I cringed when I saw the thread because I knew where it would go. I cringed even more when I realized it was an SV fan who posted it because I knew what people were going to say.

FTR, I do think Justice is one of the top 3-4 in the state.

Yeah, I knew you weren't downing Elisha, but people are just tired of the same threads on here over and over with the same things being said.
