Thanks for the information! The Panthers have no chance competing against the Shelby Valley machine in the future. By the time this Dorton and Virgie group get together, they should be unstoppable. I would say better than the group that's at SV right now. I'm also hearing there's a possibility that they may be getting another 7th grader from out in the county that may very well be (well, in my opinion he is) the best player in the county. This group is also spread out with talent, all the way down to the third grade level, from what I'm hearing. Any thoughts there, DortonWildcat5?

Congrats coach and the wildcats.
You guys dominated tonight.

Boys do not rest for one second
or the Vikings can really make you pay.
Good luck to both teams tomorrow.

I will say this, at this point, both programs together i.e. Shelby Valley will have a boat load of talent to work with. In saying that, you never know how kids will mature. Example, Betsy Layne Middle School has been dominant with nice players for the past 4 or 5 years, but they haven't materialized on the H.S. level. I have seen kids in JR. High that were great players, but by the time they got to H.S. other kids had caught up to them. Will the two teams together be really good when they are in H.S.? I certainly think they have the potential to do so, but lets wait a couple more years to see what happens.

Coach, congrats on the win! You guys made short work of them! Looks like we have our game 7! You guys are playing super well right now, we will have to step our game up to have a chance to beat you again.

Thanks, Coach.

Tomorrow night's game has the potential to be a great one if both teams show up ready to play.

Thanks. The boys were ready to play tonight. Hopefully they'll be ready tomorrow. We'll have to bring our A game again to have a legitimate chance to win.

I'm not sure what the future holds, but I am extremely excited to see how these 2 groups pan out in high school. They should be set at every position. I think Belter and Newsome could be a great combination together. They should have the big guys, several players with the ability to drive by their man, 3 point shooters, ballhandlers, and defense. What else could a coach ask for.

I'm not going to say too much, but from what I'm hearing, Valley might get more then just one top five pike county grade schooler transfering in next year. And me personally, if he does not go to the high school that his current team is a feeder for, then I hope he goes to Valley. I won't name who the player is, so please do not ask! But lets just say there would be 5 D-1 talents starting on that team, with another one coming off the bench...each with great size and talent at each position! They would just have to realize none of them would score more then 15 points a game. But the question wouldn't be when this group wins state but how many times they can!

Thanks. I don't blame you, but couldn't you at least give us a little of that luck?

If the player is who I think it is, SV does not need him.
First off, this kid shoots way to many to fit in with those unselfish guys.
Second, this kid is not even close to top 5 in the
county. Keep dreaming

Easy Money,
It sounds like you might be worried about your boy's playing time. That is probably what everyone thought when your boy decided to transfer again.

Congratulations Dorton, the question I have for the future, is how soon can these players make an impact? It takes a little while to adjust to the talent you are playing against. Sure, Belter, Caudill, and others may play lights out in middle school and then not improve their play to play against the next level. It does look awfully good for the future. It is definite Coach Randy has done his job with them, now it is up to them to continue to grow.
