Who deserves all state in the ashland football program??????

Angel by far.
Ian can't because there are simply too many other good QBs who will go much further in the playoffs and have bigger numbers.
Reliford doesn't even lead the team in rushing or total scoring. Ian has both of those for the team.
Angel on the other hand has the numbers especially considering that his numbers are as high as teams who have thrown the ball twice as much. He hardly ever drops a pass and it a threat to score a touchdown every time he touches the football. He makes incredible catches every game and refuses to be tackled.

No offense to any of these 3 guys, they're all great players. Being all skill position players, those roles are even harder to make All-State. For allowing this guys to accomplish what they have, I think an offensive lineman deserve the All-State notch for Ashland.

Angel Gurule, definitely.
I think Ian Holbrook deserves honorable mention.

You obviously haven't seen an Ashland game this season. And if you have, you haven't payed close attention. The line for Ashland this year was by FAR their weak point. The yards Ian had passing and rushing was due mostly to his ability to scramble up field and avoid the pressure the line let get to him. The same goes for Angel except while Ian scrambled he never quit running and would eventually get behind the defense. Most all of Ashland's big plays this season were off of what were busted looking plays where these 2 young men just gave exceptional efforts to accomplish the numbers that they did.

I'm going to be honest and say no I didn't see Ashland and I do know Ian along with Angel are two exceptionally good players. The line may have been mediocre at best but there wasn't even one who stood out?? I know these 2 are play makers but the line had to do at least something right at times, teams don't win district titles off of busted plays it's about near impossible. I had the opportunity to watch JC's defensive front against Paintsville, and they were definitely superior. For Ashland to beat JC, regardless of the circumstances that o-line had to at least fall and trip up some of JC's rushers.

I can guarantee you that there were not any Ashland offensive linemen this season made a large contribution to the success of the team. The ability of the skill positions to make a huge play out of what many times would look like a loss or sack is what made this team go. Tyler would run head on into mounds of people and just keep churning until he got 3 yards. Ian would scramble back and forth dodging numerous defenders until a running lane opened or a receiver became open. Gurule never gave up on a play and would run for 8+ seconds trying to get open or behind the defense and allow Holbrook to make the throw. The skill positions carried Ashland this year while the offensive line drug it down. If Ashland had even what would be considered a mediocre/good line this season, there is a good chance Ashland would still be in the playoffs and undefeated on the season making a run to Louisville.
