There is no doubt that the boy will be playing D-1.

Nice dunk! Seen him do that on many a guard that thinks they can hang with him... it's not happening little men. :dontthink

I don't know about D1, but Knipp will definetly play for a college program. He needs to add some strength and improve his defense before he can be considered a D1 prospect.
Knipp plays well against smaller guys but against players who can match his size and are a little more physical, he has struggled some.
Very nice dunks though Sacbunt. Thanks for sharing.

He had a nice dunk against GRC last year as well over Robbie Stenzel.

He is a definite D1 player- lots of major colleges are high on him!

Some pretty good D1 school will give him a scholarship regardless, based on talent alone. I'm sure many others would take a chance on him in hopes that they can improve his defense and strength. He definitely has the skill to play D1. The question is does he have the desire to work hard enough to improve his game. I don't know him, so I can't answer that question. He definitely has god given ability though.

What schools are after Knipp? Neither Scout or Rivals lists anyone.

lol no doubt the kid will go d-1
when you can get up like that in traffic
and throw it down then you are truly talented.
thats the main thing colleges look at,
athletic ability. if thats not athletic
ability then idk what is.
i mean its one thing to dunk on a fast break,
but to be able to beat someone off the dribble
and get by them, then take it all the way to the
rim and throw it down in traffic now thats something
else. good luck Timmy you have a good future
ahead of you young man.

Not bashing the kid because all three of the Knipps are great kids (Chris, Sonny, Timmy), but look at the teams he's dunking on. I seem to remember him getting dunked on TWICE by Elijah Pittman last year at state. Pretty sure Adams of SV had a dunk over him last year in the All "A" as well.
There's more to getting a D1 scholarship than just being athletic and being able to dunk. Knipp is 6'7 so of course he's able to throw one down when he wants...there are plenty of 6'0-6'1 GUARDS in the 7th region that are doing the same things night in and night out though.
Let's see how he develops over the next two years before we start putting unfair pressure on the KID.

Knipp reminds me of a European player. He can do anything you want him to do on offense, but he lacks strength and defense.
Someone will offer him a D1 scholly though.

well first of all, it doesnt matter who you are dunking on
it just matters that u get the dunk.
for another, colleges do look to see if you can dunk or not.
name one college player that cant dunk and im not talking about
naia either. if you can name one d1 player that cant dunk ill take
back everything, and the reason for this is because colleges nowadays
dont want a kid that cant finish strong at the rim plain and simple.
but on the note of elijah pittman and devan adams, elijah pittman is
just a tremendous athlete and im sure he can probably get a good smash
on about anyone in the state lol and devan adams, hes 7 feet tall lol i mean
you should be able to dunk on a shorter defender if your that tall lol
i mean yea the kid has some developing to do but he can for sure
go d1 if he wants to.

There are plenty . . . but the first that comes to mind is Keiton Page. The Travis Ford protege PG at Oklahoma St.

The kid has all summer to work on his game and between the AAu games and the camps he goes to he will be a different caliber player his Sr. year.

Absolutely... this kid will likely be one of the best players this area has seen in a long time next year, not that he isn't already.

Knipp has D-1 written all over him. He has all the tools. The only thing I see him lacking is quickness. You can tell from looking at the dunks from last year to this year, that his body is filling out. I thought I read somewhere that he had an offer from Tennessee St. He may not go to a BCS school, but he will play D-1.

There are plenty of college players that can't dunk and like I said before...college coaches could care less if you can dunk or not. Mark Krebs of UK didn't dunk the first time until this season. Coaches are more worried about how you help your TEAM. That's why you don't have to average over 20 ppg to get a D1 scholly. They're more worried about your quickness, strength, and how you help your team at both ends of the floor.
I'm not saying Timmy isn't D1 because he definetly has the potential, but there are just a few things that he needs to work on before he can be proclaimed a "definite D1 player." His work ethic and attitude are the two biggest areas that he needs to improve on. When it comes to god given talent though, the kid's definetly got it.

LOL, that figures that such an amazing dunk would come against Lewis Co!!

Tell me how many 6'7'' kids have those kinds of moves and athletic ability especially in the mountains! Most kids especially in the montains that are used at the Center position have no athletic ability! Here he is going against smaller faster players and going right around them and dunking with really no speed built up, i would hate to think what his vertical has to be! And those are main qualities for D1 and then thats not even including the fact that he is leading the state in scoring! Oh yeah he will be a D1 players if he wants!

You do realize that schools like EKU, Murry State, and Morehead are D-1 right?
If Dakotah Euton can go to Akron and play in the MAC, then im convinced that Timmy can play atleast in Confrence USA. Timmy has a lot of upside. Hes to big to get checked by a 2, but hes to athletic, and can play around the arc. So a 4 will have trouble keeping up.
I got to catch a game earlier this season, against Rowan co. In the first half the Vikings tried to guard Knipp with Darrell Cross(their RB in football, that runs a sub 4.5, 40 yard dash). Knipp scored 20+ in the first half. In the second they switched it up and tried to guard him with Adam Wing(their QB, who is a solid 6'4") Knipp finished the game with 39 points and around 15 rebounds. This game is a perfect example of how he will play D-1 basketball. He will create mis-matches for the next 6 years.

Dude, your fighting a losing battle when you go against kw01's vast knowledge of D-1 prospects. One more thing Knipp is from EKY. No way is he D-1 material:eyeroll: My opinion the boy will go D-1 easily.
