Russell 2010
I don't see much action in the weight room. It does need to be mandatory with no excuses. They do have a good sophmore class with experience now but Jones leaves a big gap. They seem to like #35 at back but he looks tiny to me. I hope they're working on the QB spot and decide in the passing league and not prior to each game. I think they will be very skilled and experience but will struggle again against other teams that are dedicated to the weight room for the entire off season. I just heard that coach Jones is leaving which will be interesting to see who replaces him.
The sophomore class will have to pick up the pieces, but I believe they can. This group has heart. They will have another returning sophomore that did not play this year (Cody Minnehan). His is strong and can run. Zach Thompson (#35) has been working out since November...at school and at home. He is small, but he has speed and is strong. The coaches have told him what he needs to do to prepare for the upcoming season. He also plays baseball but plans on continuing weightlifting throughout the season. Rumor is they are going to change the offensive plays some to utilize the speed of our backs. Coach Jones has retired and his position remains open.
I know of one team in the county that has recently purchased a vertimax and seem to love it.
Looking forward to new blood in the coaching staff particularly with the backs..
Russell has always had players who were unable to be allowed to reach their full potential. It will be interesting to see how the o & play calling might change..

Would that be in Boyd or Greenup County? The Russell school district is in both of them.
I heard Fairview got a Verti-Max and the players love it.
