Day has another great game for Buckhorn but Hayes and Ritchie were too much!

I almost said Breathitt by 6 in the prediction thread. Congrats Bobcats!
#5
Good win for Breathitt. I didn't expect this. Congrats Bobcats!
#6
Buckhorn really missed Eric Stidham due to an ankle injury. Colwell and Day were strong inside, but Buckhorn had too many turnovers and too many missed easy shots. Ritchie and Hayes were lights out for the Bobcats, also.

Buckhorn played a great game without 2 key players. Stidham with an ankle injury and one of the twins with a broken hand. Coming into the game I thought we had no chance but Buckhorn showed great determination. Some players who never played came in and really helped. Breathitt shot lights out all night from the 3 but Buckhorn never laid down and still had a shot. Matt played another great game, but Ryan Couch was really big for Buckhorn tonight. Congrats to Breathitt on the win. Great effort to Buckhorn.

Yeah, Buckhorn wins this one by around double digits with Stidam playing.

Yeah Breathitt is missing their other big man too so?

Breathitt has a decent big?

Solid win for BC

Hmmm. Let's see Cody Moore's importance to Breathitt vs. Eric Stidham and one of the twins' importance to Buckhorn? Tough call. Regardless of the argument, Breathitt still won the game. I would like to see both teams go at it again, though. Very entertaining game.

Good win for Breathitt. Both of these teams could be sleepers in the 14th region

Not saying the outcome would be different, we will never know but Eric Stidham is a difference maker for Buckhorn. He is one of the leading scorers with Matt Day. He had 31 against Hazard in the All A. The offense runs through him. Plus Gay is big off the bench for a team who has very little depth. They used 3 players that hardly ever see varsity action. Anyhow, Breathitt won the game, we lost. I just really commend Buckhorn on their efforts in a game they could have easily laid down and quit.

Before any Breathitt fans get mad at me or anything I am not trying to take away anything from your team. You played a great game and got the win. I am just trying to commend Buckhorn's players for stepping up and playing as well as they did without two key players.

Good win for the Bobcats! But I thought they should of won by 10 or 15 they had alot of missed freethrows late and instead of slowing the game down when they was up 10 with 3 min to go they just played like it was a tied game. The bobcats have trouble sometimes closing the door on good teams. I really enjoy watching there O-fense but they are lazy and take no pride in there D-fense. I think if Coach Noble starts teaching D-fense I don't think no one in the region could stop them.

I would have to agree with you!

Coach Noble does teach defense...lol..Always blaming the coach!!! The boys just don't want to play D and rarely slide over to contest the lay-up...Maybe the boys will see that defense does win ball games..especially the big ones!!!! Buckhorn has a good program and played well...Defense up top caused a lot of turnovers if the guys down low would just slide over..we could see some major improvement down low.....Coach Noble does a great job and hopefully the boys will start playing better D because i sure would like a trip to Rupp!!!! Go Bobcats!!!

that statement is a little untrue because i have talked to a couple players on the team and they claim to not have any defensive drills in practice, nor is it mentioned in practice, or how to improve it in practice, so bottom line is if you don't teach defense in practice you will not have none in the games

I don't think so!!! A win is a win and injuries are a part of the game. I think Breathitt didn't play very well and the score is a lot closer than the game actually should have been.

Nah, with Stidam the Horn wins.

I will have to disagree with you on that one.....My son is at practice everyday!!!!One day is for defense..the next for offense and so on....Defense is stressed!!!!! These kids have played ball for a long time and know how to slide over or switch on the screen they just have to have the get up and go to do it....Breathitt looked good tonight..Another big win against a good shooting team...Go Bobcats
#23
Congrats Breathitt!

Well your obviously very bias. The team plays no defense, one of the worst defensive teams I've seen all year.

Congrats Bc

Breathitt shot lights out all night from the 3. Hard to say they didn't play good. As for the game not being that close, I don't buy that either. I was there and Breathitt would extend the lead and then Buckhorn would make a run to cut it down. I will say Breathitt should have won this one by a lot more. If Stidham plays, I think Buckhorn had a better shot to win this game. The offense runs through him along with Matt Day. I will agree with you on the fact of a win is a win thought. Breathitt came out with the W and that is all that matters. These are two of the Top 5 teams in the region behind Knott, Perry, and Hazard (no particular order). Those are the 5 teams IMO that can win this region. Too bad 1 of them won't be there due to 3 of them being in the 54th together.

yes, I am very bias that is very true!!!! I am proud of our boys and our coaching staff...
#28
Well, good.
#29
Breathitt is winning, doesnt matter if they play D or not, they are winning, cant you give them credit for winning?

.....and you're not biased? In virtually every thread about Breathitt basketball, you have posted remarks that have been mostly negative or sarcastic. They must be doing something right, they're 16-4. I don't think they're the best team in the 14th. I don't think they will make it to Rupp this year. I think their defense could be a lot better. But, I congratulate them for having a season that many schools would like to have. The objective is to win as many as you can, however you can, and have fun. They play hard and are entertaining. That's about all a fan of mt. basketball could hope for from HS kids.
