what does Rock have coming back and what did they lose? Surely they cant be looking at 2 straight losing seasons. I would think they would be loaded from what I hear.

And along a few others. The quarterback position will be a big issue at Rockcastle County. I just don't see ROCK getting 2 consecutive losing seasons at all. IMO, ROCK will indeed improve bigtime winning at least in the regular season 7 to 9 games minimum and come November, I would not be suprsied if this team makes it to the regional finals and if not then 2011 would be their time to get that far. I see Clark Rowe finishing his career if he stays healthy and in good shape over 5,000 yards when its over.:rockon:GO ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rowe could play in any backfield in the state.

this team needs to learn how to focus thats what hurt them last year.

282 victories,156 losses and 1 tie equals they have played in 439 games and has a winning percentage of 64% in the last 38 seasons. Remember, 28 of them were winning seasons and 21 straight winning seasons from 1986 to 2006 to combine a (202-53) record under now Harlan County coach Tom Larkey.

Take advice from someone that has actually done those qualifications to take it to the others and see what happens.

I think athletes has a little to do with it also Rocket. They may have been better during that time.

what discipline changes are you talking about?
I thought last year we had a very experienced team, I know we had several guys who started the previous years. So In your opinion what happend with last year? And what discipline are you talking about?

3 heart-breaking losses, yes. Was there a little bit of a maturity issue, yes. Experience does not always equal maturity. I heard quite a few comments about Rock's heart....or lack thereof. Heart is easily fixed and does not have to carry into the next season.
The district is tough but nobody is unbeatable. Knox is getting better everyday and Bell County had a pretty incredible team last season. Rock has to focus their mind and body on winning. Then it will happen.

Rock had SR:
QB, TE, WR, OT, OG,
DB< DB< LB< DL
Plus they had some Jr's who started as 10 graders.
Shouldnt have lacked experience.

i hope the best for the rock next year. but i think it will be a lossing record in the end. i say this because of what some of the seniors told me. i was told that some of the up coming seniors caused alot of conflict on the team and was a big problem last year.

Who will be on the OL next year?
Who will play QB?

Saylor,Steven Thomason,Clark Rowe,Ben Lake,BB Bradley, and Perry Mason are returning......Clark and John are respectively responsible for the rushing stat for Rockcastle last season, BB Bradley, and Ben Lake will more and likely in my opinion will be the 2 notable most intelligent when it comes to the offensive and defensive lines.....Steven Thomason has a bright future possibly ranking up there with Chris Croucher,Zach Burkhart, and Travis Ingram as one of the best tacklers to come play at ROCK......I see Clark Rowe finishing his career with over 5,000 yards or more if he stays the agility healthy shape he is now, John L. Saylor will be amassing almost about 2,000 career rushing yards at the end of 2010. BB Bradley made 77 tackles last season and only a sophomore, Steven Thomason had 58 tackles last season and only a sophomore, and John L. Saylor had 69 tackles as junior last season. I really don't see ROCK hitting a losing season at the end of this upcoming, ROCK will be a threat in the next 2 seasons with the rushing defense and the rushing offense and be a contender for 2nd place in the district in 2010 and just maybe a district or region title in 2011. I see Rock winning in my strong opinion having a tough, tough bunch of young men coming back 7 or 8 games this year.

You have missed a few kids that will be impacked players. Corey Baker he had 35 tackels last season and didnt start untill the Pulasky countey game Dillin Thacker should be a solid lineman Zack Reams should also be solid too. There is alot of talent on this team just doesent look like there will be much size.
02-08-2010, 07:25 PM
Corey Baker has potential, Zack Reams in 2010 will be his year of being versital, Rockcastle will be a threat for runner-up in the district this year. They will certainly be a big threat the next year in the district, so Bell better be watching out for ROCK in the next two years.

trickle Wrote:are you joking bell will kill them. No, I'm sure not joking about this, I honestly believe if Rock restores the 2 main ingredients of the off-seasons which is attitude and discipline, they have lacked that I believe the last 2 years, I know they had a breakthrough season in 2008 winning 8 games but, Based on what I saw...some kids got hurt on what I like to call "not so serious" where you just tape it up and get back in the game..... I can honestly think of 3 or 4 good kids from that 08 team and 3 or 5 from the 09 team. And thats basically based on character, toughness, will to win athletes:
2008- Steve Trimble,Jared Smith,Casey Hayes,Nick Miracle
2009- Dustin Bishop,Matt Bullens,Cole Abney,Jamie Todd,Dalton Dillingham
Those kids have earned my respect based on those qualities. Now having an attitude like "Bell is going to kill us" won't get no where other than words, I honestly believe that words wont hurt these upcoming kids, and if you have an attitude of the Bell County fans having flirtations of a single-state championship of 2 overall, like they are a Trinity,St. X,Boyle,or Danville then as fan talking flirtations of"whipping everybody, going to win state guarentee!!!" will get you in trouble. That Bell/Boyle game in 2009 is a prime example of a lesson to learn from a cakewalk schedule and the brag attitude of the Bell fans. I will admit when Rockcastle made it to state twice in 2001 and 2002, That overall kinda made us as in my football classmates thinking in middle school that we are going to do the same thing but winning is important. And as you know we didnt get back to the state title game, but we as a team and community stuck together with our heads up winning some important games overall to gain respect with class. This 2010 team coming has some minds that are now working there butts off in the weightroom to gain position battles, lifting numbers, speed numbers, academic numbers, heart and character has witnessed the last 3 seasons pass and want to make a difference and if those 2 main ingredients take place, then in my strong opinion, they will make a difference.

John L. will be the leader of the team in 2010. He is as tough of a guy as I have ever seen. He plays and practices with leadership abilities. The other kids better get behind him.
