BTW, I know some people think I'm exaggerating when I say Pittman plays ABOVE THE SQUARE, but the following pictures should be proof. Pittman would've hit his head on the bottom of the backboard had he not ducked in the first one and in the second one, he was still going up at that point in the picture. He gets WAY up there..

kywldcat01 Wrote:Holmes put together a complete game against Cooper too.

Biggest difference is Henley is finally letting the boys get out and run so they're having more fun with the offense. Proof is in the numbers the past two games. It also doesn't hurt that Pittman is playing a lot more focused and playing line a man among boys down low.

They also seem to have found their solution at PG. Herndon started in place of J. Johnson tonight and did a very good job bringing the ball up and getting the offense started. Hayes and Herndon have both stepped up big lately.

Holmes is starting to put all the pieces together. Have to continue to play with the same intensity every game though. If they do, NOBODY in the state can touch them. I feel confident in saying that after the way they've played the past two nights.

I agree that Herndon has stepped up lately. It's good to see that. I also think he might be the solution at PG.

Slusher is very athletic. Great kid and good student too. He is kind of a blue-collar type player, does all of the little things very well. Wasn't at this game, but from the pictures it looks like he had a chance to show some flash though! I've been told he has been contacted by a few small schools.

Great to see the Bulldogs playing the way they should be playing. Missing a lot of games this year due to my son basketball season, playing and practice. He is in the regionals now and season will be ending soon. I will be back watching my beloved Bulldogs from here on. Go Dawgs!!!

Besides points, what was Avery's statline?

I think he may have had 3 or 4 rebounds and 2 or 3 assists.

I'm pretty sure he had a block or two as well.

Meechie played pretty solid for it only being his second game back. Seemed to play with a little more confidence.

Stardust, here are the official numbers from last night:

Pittman: 7-7 FG, 18 pts, 7 rbs, 2 stls, 1 blk
Avery: 4-9 FG, 9 pts, 2 rbs, 2 stls, 1 ast
Herndon: 4-7 FG, 8 pts, 2 rbs
J. Johnson: 4-7 FG, 8 pts, 2 rbs, 2 stl, 1 ast
Slusher: 3-5 FG, 7 pts, 3 rbs, 2 stls, 1 ast
Rice: 2-5 FG, 5 pts, 6 rbs, 5 ast, 1 stl
McClendon: 2-3 FG, 5 pts, 2 stl
Hayes: 2-5 FG, 4 pts, 6 ast, 3 rbs, 1 ast, 1 stl
R. Johnson: 2-5 FG, 4 pts, 8 rbs, 6 blks, 3 ast, 1 stl
Gray: 2-4 FG, 4 pts, 2 rbs
Mayfield: 1-3 FG, 3 pts, 3 rbs, 1 ast
Amison: 0-1 FG, 2 pts

After looking at the stats, Ricardo Johnson might not have had a good game scoring wise, but man did he do it all in other places...8 rbs, 6 blocks, and 3 ast is pretty impressive. Just goes to show how much of a team player the kid is.

Pittman was perfect from the field (7-7) and free throw line. (4-4)

^ Thanks. About how many minutes would you say Avery played?

He played the whole 4th quarter, so that's 8 minutes right there.

As far as the first 3 quarters I'd say he played about 8 minutes during that time as well.

He probably ended up playing somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 mins.

He came out when Holmes cleared the bench in the 4th, so I would say closer to 15

Stardust Wrote:They need to stop trying to win games by playing in the 50's. Open the offense up. This is what they should be doing. I won't put any credence into the Cooper game. Come on guy's, let's face it, Cooper provides us ZERO bearing that the Dogs were back, ZERO! Now this game, against a quality team, a Quality Player - Smith, and a Quality Coach - Carr, is a legit guage. So, after one legit game since the Ryle game, they have started something that could carry them on.

Yes in all honesty who hasnt beaten Cooper by 50 lol

CJ, I'm not taking any liberty's on Coop. I love Ryan Thompson, but his young team has a ways to go in order to compete, but they WILL!
