Belfry will not be overlooking anyone.....You can't win the State Title overlooking anyone. I h=guess no one remembers that Coach Haywood walks the sidelines, he has been at Belfry longer than most of you have been alive. He knows what it takes to get the job done, and I am positive he will have the Pirates ready and focused.

Leslie was a vary good team. They played hard every single play and the game came down to like most people thought it would, Whoever had the ball last. The cards played very sluggish in the first half but came out strong in the 2nd half. Now we will have a vary hard week of practice and we will go to pond creek and beat belfry for the regional championship. Good win tonight cards...

Coach matney may not now be schs football /wrestling #1 fan
but close behind a few of us, he is #2. I have personally
seen him upset at his former assistants ,but trust me ,just let
someone outside this circle say something negative or bad
about the cards or their coach and see what a lecture they get.
Oh yea about forgetting coach....I doubt the 30 some STATE
CHAMPIONS and STATE RUNNERUPS not to mention another 50
ALL Staters will forget him soon. Nor the final 4 team my nephew
played on.. or the undefeated district championship will either.
May there be many more great wins for coachs former students.
And tonight may all Martin County celebrate the way we did when we busted your butt not so long ago at THE ROCK!

Congrats to the Cards. A definite surprise to me in this one. I never seen Leslie Co play but the way everyone made them, I figured they would roll over SC easily. I guess I was wrong. But it's good to see SC back in the mix of things after a brief break from the playoffs the past couple of years.

one of the bigger upsets of the year i would have to say.....but congrats to SC and they pulled off a huge win over a great Leslie Co. team.....and good luck againist Beflry next week....should be a good game

That was the most hard fought game I have ever seen. SC didnt play very well at all in the first half, adn they were only down 19-6 at the half.. Then they came out in the 2nd half and played alot better.. They shut out the Eagles in the 2nd half and pulled out of there with a 1 pt win. That last play on 4th down, was probably the most nerve racking play ever. But im not sure what happened. And some of those Leslie co. fans were so freakin rude and and were sayin a bunch of crap, but all I got to say to them is "Our Bird is bigger than yours".. :bow::wenumber1::Clap: Wink

Well... my recent prediction was wrong as I didn't think SC had the firepower and team speed to win....

But.... my bold prediciton at the start of the year when I said LC will roll through the regular season 9-1 and be cocky, then get beat out early in the playoffs was dead on. I honesstly felt LC would peak in about week 7 or 8 and that's exactly what they did.

Well done SC... hopefully next week won't be a replay of that 1999 game! haha
