Lawrence County 2010
#1
What do u think guys?
#2
decent but they lose thier whole line and 8 defensive sttarters so they willl be decent
#3
No 12-0 start, but they will be good.
#4
They seem to have things on the right track in Louisa. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lawrence County win district again and possibly face Bell County again in the playoffs.

Best of luck to the Bulldogs!
#5
With the Combs kid (#75) being the only true starter in the trenches this
maybe a wait and see year.
I was impressed with the play of #73

I think LC has a great coach.
Good talent. they will lose some games this year but i think they will go into the playoffs again if they get a QB. they are in need of someone who can throw the ball and not just hand it off. the inability to throw the ball cost them the bell county game honestly. anyone who was there knows it.
hunter james will provide a good running game this coming season, but they need to be able to throw the ball as well. 7 just cant get it done

Kiser will be one of the best QB's in the area. We are lucky to have him at LC. If any LC fans look back over the last 10 or so years you will see a scary trend of having to start young QB's because so many transfered etc. He's started 1.5 years and keeps getting better.
We lose a lot of kids up front but have kids that are ready to fill in that will suprise people. 2 solid fullbacks, James + Bentley are both back and primed for big years. Clay+Shepard will provide athleticism on the perimeter.
Defense has top 3 tacklers back in OBrian,Bradley and Skaggs. ILBers got a lot of experience last year especially Schaffer. Mullett was lockdown last year but Shepard back out will help there. He's been one of the better athletes in the area the last couple of years.
I think people in Louisa will be pleasantly suprised with the group of kids we have back. We lost a GREAT Sr class but the days of having to start all Fresh+Sophs is over. Coach Salmons has done a great job of hitting the hallways getting kids out. He has about 58-68 working out which is a lot at LC!

I agree with everything you said, except the hayden being best in the area and lucky to have him,:please: we would be lucky to get rid of him.:flush:
so either you are on the hospitals payroll or your related to him.

Classy:yawn:
Neither. Been around a lot of football players. You have your opinion and that's fine just remember you are bashing a soph in high school on a public message board. A soph that helped lead a program from rock bottom to a 12-1 record.
He didn't have a lot put on him because he was a soph. We had a huge line..a 6ft 230lb fb and several other nice backs including James who was also over 1,000 yds. Not smart to put it on a young qb when he had grinders around him. If you look at Kisers stats they were usually around 3-4 with 2 TD's. I don't really need to defend him. Since he led us to 12-1 as a soph. Just hate when people hide behind names and slam KIDS. Our own kids at that. Sad. People have ZERO clue about the amount of time and dedication the kids put in the weightroom during the off season. Lots of sacrifice because they have pride in representing our communitty.

Kiser's play without question was a BIG reason for LC success!
With two more years.

Well said Bulldog 42 a winning team is not just made on one player or position..Kiser is a excellent qb. He keeps a cool head and gets the job done. He is a totally selfless player. In looking at the past glory days for LC it has always been the running game that has carried them. Yes improving the passing game is a priority as well but do not forget to give credit to the team and playing style that worked for them in the last years. We will not totally be reverting back to a new team. Coach Salmons worked several of these boys to fulfill the outgoing Seniors..ie Blake Schaeffer, Jacob Marcum and Caleb Bailey..these boys were told what laid ahead of them in next few seasons and worked hard to get there. With returning OBrian, Bradley,James and Skaggs we have rock solid players. Also check out the weight room everyday.. Salmons is such a positive influential coach.. you will already see several 7th and 8th graders working hard that want to be a part of the Dawg team .

I am not on the hospital payroll or related to him. I watched every game and saw not only Kiser but every player on this team unite in common purpose. For a sophomore QB to be able to step in and run a complicated offense like he did is unbelievable. Every player on the offense had to put in many hours of practice to be as successful as they were. But the most impressive of all we got to see true team play. It was not about Kiser, James, Pack, Preston etc. It was about a solid coaching staff developing a game plan and 11 guys executing it to near perfection. Take it from somebody who knows this takes hard work, perserverance and dedication to acheive what this team did. I agree you should be able to voice your opinion however I feel there is no need to run down a 15/16 year old kid who was only doing what he was asked to do.

A much improved an experienced Greenup team should give them a pretty good fight for the district. GC returns all of the D and O lineman.

How many seniors did Lc actually loose?

15-16
Mostly on the lines.

I think Hayden Kiser did an outstanding job as qb. If anyone can name someone who could do a better job, then name them. I'm sure the coach wants the best players he can get at every position, as his job security is tied somewhat to success on the field.

I have been around the LC program for a long time and I for one think that Kiser did a very good job at QB. Sure he didn't pass a lot but that,s the coaches call. But when he did put the ball in the air he threw a very good ball . I personally had my doubts before the season about him but after the first game I had his back and I thought he did a good job all year long and he's just in the 10th grade. I look for 2 more big years from him and even bigger thing's from the team as a hole. Good Luck in 2010. And yes you Greenup fans should have a lot better team this year but LC will be the team to beat IMO.

Good fight? Greenup hasn't had a winning season in almost a decade. Winning season then concentrate on the district title. I see guys being 3rd this year behind us and Rowan.Confusedhh:

Lawrence County will be a threat winning over 10 games again and making a possible good quarterfinalist team at the end, They will continue to improve.

18 seniors and the entire Offense and Defensive line returning. Next seasons GC team reminds me of the LC team from last season. Not to mention they have had 50 to 60 in the weight room every day.
#23
If you notice that is a Rowan Co person talking smack not LC. We have respect for everybody on the schedule.
#24
LC had some new faces on the side lines this year.
The players responded with great hustle and play.
Who were some of these new coaches?

Well, Hayden wouldnt even had the Qb spot if it wasnt for Shep dealing with injuries, and as far as him being one of the best qb's in the area, well as of right now hes not, i really hope he proves me wrong tho. There was many of games i watched this year when we threw it, he would just throw it up, and if it wasnt for lucas frasher being 6''5 and a good tight end, them passes would have been incomplete or ints.

Well hopefully Chandler will have recuperated enough to be another option at qb. It is always good to have options.......

with looseing that many seniors i think they will have a tough time replacing them.. should b a interesting season to watch imo
#28
I'm not going to explain things on BGR but I will say this. We are estatic with the thought of having Shep back who should be one of the better athletes in the state.
Those knocking Hayden I would be real interested to hear who you think 5 in Eastern KY are that are better. He won 12 games his Soph year in a new offense with a 2 to 1 TD to int ratio. When you find 5 that measure up to that please post. If you ask any kid on LC's team they will tell you Hayden was the best QB on the team hands down. I'm not only excited about his future at LC I'm excited that we have a kid as classy as him leading the charge.
#29
Hayden Kiser was just a sophmore last year and stepped into the starting position with no experience after the previous starting quarterback had to have surgery after hurting his elbow in baseball. You will be suprised at how good Kiser actually is over the next two years. He is just now developing physically. In two years he will probably be good enough for I-AA.

They loose almost everyone. They will be lucky to be 500 next year!
