I was there, they trailed by 13 points in the first half. Came back to get a 3 point lead at the start of the 4th quater. The big girl in the middle was the difference. Great job by the ladycats they have some great outside touch they made around 11 treys.

Betsy Layne made the only 8 Treys of the game.

Great effort Lady Bobcats!

This game could have been a lot closer !! There were enough layups missed late in the third and early in the forth to probably keep this game even. Great effort by Betsy Layne. I really thought H Cs big girl was taken care of a few times. She is a good player but but she did get several "touch" calls. JMO.

Congrats Holy Cross

Good effort from the LadyCats...just not enough size! Martin and Hamilton played a good game today! This may help them focus more for the rest of the season and not dig themselves such big holes at the beginning of games.

Nice Shooting.......The big girl in the middle was the difference. BL played behind her too much. When she caught it on the post with her man (girl) behind her, you could go ahead and mark it down. GREAT JOB nonetheless!!! Good Luck HC in the rest of the tourny.

Not a fan of any team there but come to watch some girl's b-ball. I watched from 9:00 to about 11:00. Imo BL had as good of a team as almost anyone that I watched today. Bad draw for BL because I was far more impressed with BL then quite a few. 21 was a good player, but not unstoppable. BL played on their heel's early and let her do as she pleased. If BL would have not played like this early they would be playing Harlan Thursday. But I will not take anything away from the most important thing here today, Bl was one of the best small schools in girl's b-ball in the state. Congrat's BL.

I think that it was a great effort from Betsy Layne against a city school! Congrats to Betsy Layne for a good game and congrats to Holy Cross on the win!!

Yeah first quarter was what really killed them being down 18-5. They cut it to 10 at halftime, got a 3 point lead in the 3rd quarter, but they just ran out of energy in the 4th from using it all up in the 3rd. I had the honor and privilege of being courside calling the game, and for Betsy Layne they are one heck of a team, and just getting to Richmond is a great honor and they should be proud of what they did, just ran into a great Holy Cross team who had the advantage down low with the Moore girl who had a double double before fouling out. Coach Akers will get her team focused for the task at hand back here in the mountains and that is district play, and the postseason right around the corner.
