Boyd Co. 7th & 8th grades played in the Verity tourn Fri & Sat. 7th came away with one win against East Carter and lost to Raceland & Lawarence Co.
Boyd Co. 8th grade was runners-up with wins over East Carter 35-28, & Raceland 43-22 lost to Verity in championship game 53-57. Once again Verity jumped out to a very big lead in the first quarter but Boyd fought back to tie it up and went ahead in the fourth but could not hang on. Verity is a good team but Boyd Co. is not far behind. These two teams could meet in the OVC tourn. I would not want to be Verity. Its hard to beat a team 5 times in the same season.
