No, it was not hype. However, they had already filled the two spots available for kids with a 26 ACT (the lowest they will go) so, Caleb had to make a 28 on his last ACT in order to get to play there and he made a 26. So there is really no point in making an official visit. Cornell has told him he can play there with his current ACTscore. That being said, Caleb just feels like Wofford will be a better fit and it is several hours closer to home. He will visit there this coming weekend. They also were the first to offer him this summer and he has built a good relationship with the staff and coaches there.

Caleb Watkins has taken 2 of his 5 official visits and has now decided to commit to EKU. He was offered a full scholarship. He will redshirt his freshman year (as they do with all incoming freshman) and then play RB his remaining 4 years of eligibility. His host this weekend was Charlie Banks from LCC. A fine young man and football player. GO COLONELS!

I talked to Charlie over the weekend and he said that Caleb Watkins was "top-notch". He said he really enjoyed hanging out with him and that he thought he would be a great asset to the Colonels roster.

Great for kids to get their education paid for. Congrats. EKU better get it going because Murray St. has brought in one heller of a coach in Hatcher. He is already made he presence felt by recruiting hard in this area.
