Lynn Camp @ Paintsville Predictions (Round 2)
#31
this one will be a very physical game.....cant wait to see it.....Paintsville is sufferingfrom losing their top running back and so is Lynn Camp...Chaffin injured his neck last night pretty bad and had to go to the Emergency Room after the game......look for him not to play in this one but if the Cats are able to pull this one out, he should be back for the regional championship game.....GOOD LUCK CATS!!!!

I'm gonna take Paintville in this one.....

cardinalfan27 Wrote:Paintsville rested the majority of those who had injuries this week, hoping that could work through this round... they will probably have everyone except Hans and maybe Andrew Brown depending on his condition, but other than that the Tigers will basically have all the injuries taken care of... Even though Hans is out the Tigers utilized the passing game to score... Stuart Lips, Kevin Williams, J.D. VanHoose, and T.J. Freno all stepped it up friday and if Lynn Camp is not much of a pass-rush defense the Tigers may be in good shape if they can contain the running game on the defensive side... Don't be suprised if Hans' collarbone doesn't heal quickly if the Tigers make it to the regional championship game...

I think this one is going to be close, but high scoring so...

Do you know the diagnosis of Brown's injury?? I know it was thought to be a concussion but I had also heard he just blacked out when he made contact. I don't know if it'd be smart for Hans to return so quickly but it is his senior year. If that's what he wants to do and feels confident in doing so, then pour to it. I had also heard that a player was in a car accident last night after the game, but don't know who or their condition.

this is going to be another tough game for the campers but i think if they play as well as they did last friday on d then they will walk away 3 games away from a dream
#35
Had heard Doderer will return next week, going to pad the injured shoulder up. Paintsville had quite a few people out against Everts. Everts was a pretty good squad from what I saw, but if Paintsville wants to win this game the Defense had better show up and play all 4 quaters...if not they will get drilled. I look for Paintsville to put some points on the board and with their senior co-captain returning they will pull this one out in a squeaker.

Mojo,

I hear the player you are speaking of is Junior Kyle Sublett. Apparently he flipped his camero on his way home from the game Friday night. Thankfully, from what I heard he escaped with only a punt knot on his head. Could have been alot worse.

I'm not completely sure whats wrong with Andrew, at the game many suspected a concussion, but he was also suffering from light-headedness and having a hard time breathing, so I'm not sure... and it was Kyle Subblett who was in the car accident... but he is fine from what I've been told. Hopefully all the boys will be able to play... Hans is still up in the air, people that are close to him have told me if we make it to next week he would be dressing (but that doesn't mean BMR will let him play) he wasn't at school this entire week and it was good to see him cheering on the sidelines... He is so dissapointed that his season ended this way, but if he can go on Friday, he will...

i think that lynn camp wins this one
#40
i think that this game will come down to who wants it more and in this case i think that lynn camp wants it more because they dont know what it feels like to go to state and paintsville does but lynncamp has a dream and i think its gonna come true
#41
I'm going with Lynn Camp...I know that they can win if they give it their all and truly want to win. I look forward to a great, close game. One in which LC holds on for the win.

Paintsville may know how it feels to go to state in basketball, but definately not in football... but we can agree to disagree, I think the Tigers want this game more, not because of the possibility of going to state, but because people have been talking them down all year. They know they are good but no one will believe that they can beat high profile teams... when they feel like that, it's tough to beat them... so now that they have had a week adjust without Hans in the offense and defense (one of the best DB on the team) look for them to be a totally different team intensity wise on Friday...

The posibility to go to state is slim for someone from Region 4.....When they have to go through a northerner from Region 3.

Paintsville 16

Paintsville's defense gave up 40 or so to Evarts and Im pretty sure Lynn Camp has a better offense. The running back from Lynn Camp is gonna have a hay day.
#46
LC game with Hazard was never as close as the final score showed, if this game was at LC I feel they would roll Tigers, but it is a long trip the game will be close. If the cats can maintain a lead into the fourth they will not fold like Evarts, Cats by 6

I have NEVER heard of a player going to "pad up" a broken collarbone.
Sounds dangerous to me as not only do you have to be concerned about a hit but also landing on the shoulder wrong.
I'd like to see Doderer play but I hope he is truly OK to play.

Lynn Camp will have to play well to win this game. I think it will come down to how plays better upfront. Both teams feature strong running games, it will be important for one team to control the line of scrimmage.
#51
If the Tigers dont play better run D than they did against Evarts then forget about it. The Evarts team played thier guts out and I think may have run out of gas. LC will not do that, to many weapons. LC has a better D than Evarts as well this is a good fball team. If the Tigers show with some run D then OK but the only other team they have played that had a potent running attack was JC we know how that turned out. I guess what Im trying to say is Tigers play good run D and keep the turnovers to a min. a big play or 2 by Pugh and Freno and the tigers win. That is a lot of ifs but Im saying.....

IMO, if (another if) Paintsville is actually as banged up as their people are claiming, there is no way that they will effectively stop the run. They have allowed quite a few points this season when healthy and allowed Evarts 40 last week. I see no possible way that they hold LC under 40. They may outscore LC and win the game, but I do not see the D holding them to 25 or less.

These class A teams are hard to predict in this region !!! But Paintsville is a good team and they should win !!!
#55
Paintsville by 2 touchdowns
#56
Lynn camp willl win big
#57
Lynn Camp has scored 434 points and given up 213.
Paintsville has scored 502 points and given up 196.

PHS has scored more and given up less points than Lynn Camp. Does that mean anything??????????????????? NO.

New season. New ball game. Both teams score a lot of points and give up a lot of points. This will be a high scoring game. I don't see either team stopping the other. The winner will be the one that capitalizes on the other's TO's.

PHS-56
LCHS-49

PHS better make sure there are new lights in the scoreboard because this one is going to be wild.

lynn camp will win
#59
We were supposed to be in a shootout friday with Hazard that did'nt materialize, so don't be suprised if this game is not the 120-119 quadruple overtime shootout everyone is expecting. LC can play defense, so can the tigers. The final between Paintsville and Pikeville did'nt even reach 40 COMBINED!!! Somewhere in the 40's for both teams, whichever one holds the other under 40 wins.

The Dangerous Synopsis:
1) Paintsville is a big strong football team that is not fundamentally sound. I don't say this as an offhand comment, but I've seen them play. Trust me, i know these things.
2) The massive fullback (Pugh) from what i can see is a hard runner and gains an advantage because of his size. I believe he lacks endurance to go "the distance".
3) The quarterback is no where near as mobile as Olinger who was completely stymied last week.
4) Paintsville will be running into the same problems nearly every other team that has faced lynn camp encountered. Who do you tee off on?
5) The team speed is unfathomable for lynn camp. They made hazard look like they were playing in slow motion.

Final Danger: Paintsville lacks the big time play ability that the teams that beat lynn camp had. To beat lynn camp you have win the turn over battle, and actaully GET the football. The camper's ball control offense can eat up the clock. Until chaffin or roskopf or reynolds break a massive run.
Look for a close game initially, but late the campers take it away, continuing the run of 4th quarter dominance.
