Final from the Dome.

Thanks for the info, was unable to listen to WPKE.Com as directed by another poster, earlier today. How were you able to get the score, and, or listen to the game. Do you have any stats? Thanks in advance.

On the road, Valley will have 20 point wins over 15th teams, at home though, teams won't come within 30 this year of the Wildcats.
#4
Listened to this one on 95.5 FM.

Justice had 20+ points and Tyler Newsome had 17 if I remember I correctly.
#5
Listened to this one on the radio and it sounded like SV had a very poor shooting game. Justice led the way with 25 and Tyler Newsome chipped in 21 (I think). Defense was what determined the outcome as Betsy Layne had a large number of turnovers. Nathan Martin led BL with 19 points. It sounded like neither team played overly well in this one...

i was at the game valley didnt shoot the ball well varney and hatfield fouled out wasnt a real good game to watch .but never the less another dominating win foe valley .congradulations

wont come within 30? would u like to make a wager on that? sv is nothing like they were last year i really expect them to lose in the region this year. they are just flat out over rated and so is ej . nathan martin is a great player one of the best in the region he played huge tonite if anyone would have helped him out at all this would have been a close game. i know ej is a good player and all but come on 15th region refs lets call a reach in on him once in a while he gets away with murder

Congrats Valley

Closer game than what the score indicates IMO.......not impressed with the wildcats in this game. JMO though, don't lecture me over it. BL could've made this one a lot closer with a few more made jumpshots (usually made), and few less silly unforced turnovers. But you gotta take it and build on it Bobcats. Baskets only come in 2s and 3s......No 24 point shot out there. When you get down, stay with it, keep fighting, keep workin' and good things are bound to happen. Best of Luck Wildcats and Bobcats on the rest of the season!

Congrats Valley on another win BTW

This was a sloppy game for both teams, which made it somewhat interesting to watch for the most part. Valley was ice cold shooting in the first half, and Betsy Layne wasn't much better. Like an earlier poster said, Betsy Layne had way too many unforced errors, which Valley was able to capitalize on. This was the first time I have seen Valley play this year, and I wasn't at all impressed to be completely honest. But I do think you have to give the Bobcats some credit too for making them play ugly. A few people from Betsy Layne told me afterwards that Knott Central is head and shoulders better than Valley. Just sayin'.

Also, SV could've made this one a lot less close with a few more made jumpshots (also usually made). In the end though SV went into the Dome, played poorly, and still walked out with a 23 point victory.

I come away from their games sometimes feeling the same way. Other times they really impress me.

Knott Central has a very talented team. I'm not sure either KCC or SV is "head and shoulders" above the other. The results of those two games were:

Knott Central over Betsy Layne by 18 at Knott
Shelby Valley over Betsy Layne by 23 at BL

EJ had 25 on a bad night and you wasn't impressed. several assist and was probably the leading rebounder. I wasn't impressed with their game tonite either, but a 23 point win on the road aint bad. BL usually gives Valley fits there anyway. More pounding the ball to Taylor and this game would have opened up big IMO.

KCC could beat SV on any given night. That's not the point though.

I've seen both on good nights and I'm here to tell you KCC is not on SV's level. Stamper, Davis, and Cox are not quick or athletic enough for Justice and Varney. KCC has a disadvantage in every aspect of the game versus Shelby Valley except shooting.

Valley hasnt lost a game at home since 04. Yes Nathan Martin is a good player but EJ is not at all over rated and neither is Valley. Did you see the show EJ and his wildcats put on against a very good Miller Grove team from Georgia in front of Pitino at the expo? Everyone gets away with fouls in the 15th and always have but Justice is easily the best player in Eastern KY, a top PG in the state and a contender for Mr. basketball. It doesnt matter the competition just look at his state tourney stats from last year.

And for Valley IMO the loss of Adams and Tackett only hurt them on rebounding they are about as good this year as they were last year. The loss of Bryant has hurt them on defense but Varney has stepped up and done a wonderful job. They are still easily the best team in the region. Who do you think will beat them?

I have no ties at all toward Valley nor the players im just being honest based on what i have seen this year.

Honestly one of the worst officiating games I've ever wittnessed. Not saying it cost the Bobcats the game but for sure was a closer game...The foul margin was even BL 10, SV 12 in the 4th qu. its the none calls the reaching was crazy couldn't believe that the refs would let a favored team get away with. Thats a good thread, do refs favor the team thats soppose to win? What up with the fan base for SV no one follows them out of Virgie or what? I just expected 2 or 300 fans that would follow such a good team....good luck to both teams...:blabbermo

I couldnt see Knott beating SV. Knott don't play good enough defense to give themselves a chance to win. I don't believe it would be a blowout though.

I would be more than happy to place a wager on that and theres noway anyone beats Valley in the 15th. Valley is the real deal, and there going to walk through the 15th again and easily make it to Rupp. I'm a Perry Central fan btw

shelby valley over betsy layne by 23 at bl

saw both games kcc was up by 30+ at the end of the 3rd,bl played a better game that night than last night they out played kcc in the first qt. If sv & kcc played last night kcc whould have won, if they played at kcc they may have won big its hard for the 15th to win in the 14th

The is still a large number of people in the Virgie/Dorton area without electricity and water. Others just got it back in the past day or so. I'm sure that had some impact on the crowd. It's part of the reason I wasn't there...

If Bl had a point guard they could be so much better (to bad they lost madlnaod) maybe adam will step up or someone else.
#26
Neither team played well.
Yes Justice had 25 points but it is possible that he maybe a bit over rated and I must agree he does get by with A LOT of reaching in/fouls. Don't get me wrong he's a good player, but he's no D1 player.
Tackett from BL played great defense.
Martin from BL played a good game.
Newsome (#15) from SV played a good game as well.
The rest of BL team acted as if they could care less. What happen to Newman?? We seen what he could do at South Floyd!! I just don't understand.
SV is a good team and maybe it will be tough to beat them in the 15th region, but lets be real people their not the team everyone says they are.

congrats sv.......

They aren't the team everyone says they are, but they beat Betsy Layne easily on an off night on their home floor. I guess Betsy Layne isn't near the team that their fans say they are then. Newman may have disappeared due to SV's defense, probably a touch better than SF's.
#29
first off LARRY LEGEND..there was no great defense by either team..lol....and you could say that SV's defense made NEWMAN disappear if this had been the only game that he didn't play to his potential in.

BL's last game against Morgan Co, Newman did not play to his potential. Let me type this again LARRY LEGEND and maybe you'll understand. Newman showed us what he can do WHEN HE WANTS TO....
#30
ATTENTION LARRY LEGEND....lol...please read....

out of 7 regular season games this year NEWMAN has played 2 EXCELLENT GAMES against KCC & SF...he has played poorly against some of the worst teams, so we know its not SV's defense that did this...he isn't consistent. His has an attitude as if he doesn't care and attitude means a lot in HS b-ball. Maybe if they would have held him back in school and he'd have been a 19 or 20 year old senior..then maybe he would be more mature...kinda like Valley...LMAO!!!!!!!!

VALLEY'S INSIDE GAME ISN'T ALL THAT WONDERFUL. They could not stop MARTIN when he drove straight now the middle. Smile
