KCC was 1/22 or 1/24 from three... Adams is the only one who hit.. now, if Knott shot 50% from 3 (which is probable on a good day), the score would have been 103-84. Their shots weren't falling, and they didn't rebound like they are capable of. If I was Fraley, those kids would be running suicides till they puked. From what I've heard, he's just told them to put the game behind them. I'm not sure I like Fraley as much after I heard that. You can't learn from a loss like that by telling them to forget it. That doesnt make you play better defense or make an effort to box out.

True, but you have to realize these are high school kids. In situations like this you simply have to take a mental approach rather than physical approach. How is running suicides going to help them? No team should be punished for losing, regardless of the score.
KCC simply ran in to a team with more talent, athleticism, and a team who simply better. I don't think Seneca is 52 points better than the Pats, but I do think they'd beat KCC by 20 or more 8 out of 10 times.
Seneca is a VERY GOOD team. They'll challenge both Eastern and Ballard for the 7th region crown. You'll see this tomorrow night when Eastern and Seneca hook up in the KOB. Scary thing is, they're having this success without their best player from last year, 6'3 Deonte Maddox.

Well said.
Knott Central will use this game as a learning expierence, because they know they will not face a team like Seneca in their region.

Lack of rebounding and defensive intensity seems to be a recurring theme in KCC games. They have a lot of time to improve, and I think they will. They must rebound and play defense, if they do not, they will not reach their ultimate goal, Rupp Arena.

WOW!! Is there really that big of a difference between Mountain teams and city teams?!

Did Knott Co. play any consolation bracket games or will they?I haven't seen any scores posted.

All is kept calm, but when ever you lose to someone by 92, the next best thing is to watch them get blown out of the gym. Not saying Knott is not a decent team, and not at all saying they did not have mercy on Jenkins, but at the end of the day after destroying someone by 92, a 50 point loss brings you back to reality real quick. I am not a Knott supporter nor a Jenkins fan, just stating what I thought when I first saw the score of this one.

In the game that I saw KCC against Fairdale, I actually thought they had really good defensive intensity and rebounded well. Fairdale and Seneca are just more athletic than them so they were able to use that to beat the pressure and rebound with the bigger Patriots.

KCC plays Shelby Co today at 6:00 in the 5th place bracket game.

KCC is still a good team. Trust me. Like every team though at this point, they still have a few things to work on to get where they need to be.
Seneca would beat PCC too so let's not sit here and try to act like KCC lost to a bad team. Seneca would win the 14th with ease this year. Not a knock on any of those teams, but the Redhawks are simply that good.
Kudos to Knott for actually getting out of the mountains and playing some solid competition. It will help them in the long run.

Shelby County will destroy Knott County today at 6

Seneca is pretty tough year in and year out. Typically they are a middle of the pack 7th Region team though. Deonte Maddox is the experienced leader for this team. I watched him when he was a freshman, he had all the tools to be a dandy back then. This just goes to show you that people from EKY need to travel west of wherever they live, and watch some real basketball. It's another world down there. An average 7th region team can beat even the best team out of this area.

I would venture to guess that the top 6 teams in the 7th would win the
14th this year. (Ballard, Jtown, Eastern, Seneca, Trinity, Male)
The sad part is that Ballard, Seneca, and Trinity are in the same district so one won't even make the regional tournament.

Not sure why, but Maddox isn't playing this year for Seneca.
That's what makes this team so scary. As good as they are, they were supposed to be even better coming in to this season.

Mountain teams just have a hard time matching up with the athleticism and talent of these large metropotitan schools.

Not certain whether this is academic or disciplinarian in nature but I have heard he could be back in the second semester.

That leads me to believe it's academic then. Probably ineligible first semester and needs to take classes to get caught up, which would make him eligible second semester.

PCC is just as good as KCC, no better or worse IMO. Not making excuses for KCC, that was a poor effort, but chances are that it would have happened to PCC also given the same circumstances IMO.
You don't know that. I honestly don't believe Perry would have been blown out that bad and def wouldnt have given up anywhere near 100 points.

seneca played out of their heads in this game shooting 63% from the field.. all their fans said they will never play like that again... knott central looked like they were stuck in sand.. i think fatigue played a major part in this game.. kcc has played 4 games this week and had to come from behind in two of those to get wins.. then they made a 5 hour bus trip.. they don't have n/e legs and it was obvious.. they shot 31% from the field and an astounding 4% from three!!! this is not right for kcc and everyone knows it.. cox has hit 1 three this tourny and if i'm not mistaken stamper has not hit n/e three's.. kcc will be back and everyone will see they are still a top team in the state.. and in the defense of kcc this was not a 50 pt game.. fraley put the subs in with 5 min left in the game and seneca kept pushing it.. this was about a 25-35 pt game... kcc keep your heads up you'll get your legs back and the shots will go

Noway. According to you guys Stewie Stamper is the second coming and KCC is practically invincible(besides this 52 point slip up).

it is pretty much impossible for mountain teams to compete with the large city schools. this would be like kcc and pcc being combined for a team.
