I hope this is true..... Him being the AD would help out the program get what they need to be able to practice properly to become a good team.

I would say there is zero chance you will see Jay Cobb back at KCC. Although thats what they need, they are not going to get a quality head coach until they offer some paid quality assistant coaches. Thats been there problem since Jay Cobb left about ten years ago, the school system is not giving the head coach any help besides the dads of the players who want to volunteer. Whoever they hire, the coach will not stick around long due to this reason. KCC has let two great head coaches get away from them in JJ Everage and now Joe Beder and you asked both of these gentlemen why they left, and they give you the same reason. No quality help!

I hope that KCC can become competitive. The problem when I lived there was that they held the band and other sports on a higher level of appreciation than the football team. Heck, half the gate for football games and a large portion of the concessions went to the band at football games. If the mindset changes in Knott County, the team will change, but if the mindset stays the same, I am afraid that the quality of football will remain the same. Need someone to explain the economic advantages of a good football team, it brings in a lot of money.

The school has weights, a descent field and stands, and a competent coach. The thing that is missing is the will to put in the extra work in the weight-room and film-room by the players. If the players make a year long dedication to improving themselves physically and mentally in regards to football, KCC will turn things around, they have the talent to do it.

They used to have one team that covered 6th-8th I believe. Not sure that they have anything for younger kids, maybe a flag-football league. I think that if the "Feeder" team(s) get on the same page as the high school as far as terminology and base offense and defense, KCC will be much better.

This younger generation amazes me. Dilce Combs never had a football team. WarMachine is pulling your leg.

The problem Knott Co. has with football is that their middle school feeder program is for all intensive purposes nonexistent. They don't even have a team from every middle school, just about 3 or 4 i think. That's why we can never have an awesome football team, the kids aren't trained properly until high school.

Let's face it, Knott Co. has always been and will always be a basketball county. It's what we love.

I think you know where Knott County stands as you go to the SportsPlex and there is only one sport they do not have facilities and have no plans for and that is football. Does Knott County even have peewee or grade school programs. Before consolidation, Knott County schools were so small they could only support two sports. The problem is, after consolidation, they still have the same mentality.
