if we dont improve our tackling, the first team that has a big, strong , fast running back i.e. ironton and henry clay, we will get beat, dont know how big russells backfield is, but i do know how big micah johnson is and that team will be tough to beat, granted if we get to face them it will be at the pizza box, and anything can happen on the big stage.

Belfry is like most teams that are still alive right now. If they minimize turnovers and penalties they will be capable of beating anyone. Belfry's style of play and their experience gives them the hance to beat anyone they face. Belfry is always well prepared and very physical. They are more than capable of walking on the carpet this year. And even tho I am hoping to see Sheldon Clark come out of region 4, I feel that if Belfry does win the region they will make the trip to Russell and then have to rent some hotel rooms in Louisville because they will once again be playing for a State Championships.

If tackling is Belfry's biggest problem, Russell will beat them. Russell has 3 excellent running backs, 4 if you include the quarterback, that will punish any team who won't take them down with initial contact.

Tackling is the exact reason Russell and Ironton were able to beat Ashland this season. We've gotten incredibly better as the season went on, but those early games against them really killed us.

belfry has improved steadily every game but competition against the likes of darius lewis and the kid from Henry Clay have really showed some weakness once the runner is past the first level, our linebackers better be ready to knock heads or we may go home early

I give Belfry a ton of credit this season, simply because it was supposed to be a rebuilding year for them, but now it could be another state championship. I don't think it's impossible for this Belfry team to win state. It could happen, but I don't see them getting through Russell, not to mention that Sheldon Clark and Leslie County could end up beating them in the regional final.

It will be interesting to see how far this young but very talented Belfry team will get. Good luck to the Pirates!

I think Belfry can win it all again! Will they? I don't know, but I wouldn't bet against them. They have won the last 2 and untill someone knocks them off than they are the favorite in my mind.

I think we have what it takes to get back to Louisville again. We just need to shore up our tackling, and I am sure they have been working on it. We need to limit our drive killers with false starts or delay of game penalties.

We have the experiance, talent and drive that it takes to make another run to the Derby City again in December and the chance to practice football on Turkey Day...

Coach Haywood And His Pirates Are Going To Take This Week By Week. They Will Be Cautious And Careful, But Dont Ever Doubt It, The Boys From "death Valley" Will Be Prepared.... They Have Surprised Alot Of People This Season, And I Have A Feeling There Just Getting Started!!!
The Bottom Line Is; Wheither They Bring Home A State Title This Year Or Not, The Belfry Program Has Went Above And Beyond Everyone's Expectations And Pondcreek Is Proud To Be A Part Of It!!
