Very good kid hope he keeps working hard in the off season and gets his arm stronger. Keep working Matt.

Matt is avery nice kid .There is no question about this. He can only be as good as his instruction combined with his athletic abilities. When you factor in the offense he will be expected to run ,great empathy should be afforded unless you expect All-American satus from the kid. Oh by the way do we have any legit stats [ offensively]? We really don't need to look at the defense that wasn't.

I expect to see a different offense next year. I mean this present system doesnt work and if the coaches are worth their weight it salt it will change. Matt fathers knows how to teach the read option offense out of the bone and the I. I expect Matt will continue to grow as a player and s a young man remember he is still very young i also hopes he continues to stay humble and coachable.

Being humble is a great and envious virtue. In football however it will get you minus yardage and broken bones. It's very nice to be kind and respectable off the field, however when the pads go on the bar has to raise.

All I was saying is that i hope he doesnt end up getting a bad attitude or start thinking he knows more than his coaches like many players these days tend to do. Dont get it twisted however i do think major changes need to be done with the paintsville program. I just hold Matt close because i have coached this kid nd know his capabilities. I also know from that he is a very coachable kid. I was just saying I hope he stays that way. And being humble hs nothing to do with lost yardage or broken bones it has to do with being able to be taught and applying what you have learned on the field and not starting to think because your the qb means your more important that the guys in front of you was the point i was trying to make.

Really we were speaking to agressiveness not being humble.

Thank You!......Great Kid!
BUT, People be honest! I came from a time that if you weren't good enough you got cut. You may hate me BUT, I CAN go to bed knowing that I am honest and tell the truth! The kid MAY run a 5.5 to a 5.9 40, slowest kid on the team, and may be able to throw it 25 yards in the air! People....there is only one team in EKY that this kid plays for and that is Paintsville and that is because of his dad/mom! It's the truth and ALL of you know it! And to me....this is the whole problem at Paintsville with Football, Basketball, Cheerleading and what ever they are involved in! Hate me or love me....you all know it is the flat out truth! Plain and simple.

Ok then lets be honest. MATT DANIELS is a FRESHMAN. He can get faster, stronger, and develop his arm if he wants to work. I do agree with you that everything that is wrong with paintsville can be traced to parents and even worse coaches let it happen. Matt has good head on his shoulders thats what mkes him a better choice at qb than some of the others. But first and for most they need some major changes across the board. Start with basic blocking and tackling because they did neither one of these the past year.

"everything that is wrong with Paintsville can be traced to the parents". That comment is unbelievable. First of all I don't believe the previous poster meant that at all, maybe so. You may be right with your statement the parents arenT coming home after work doing skull drills, conditioning, blocking and tackling instruction. The last half of the season you had no parents or any other people around .Heck after the Pineville game most people I know had given up. The parents may need to take a more proactive approach and start doing some coaching. Somebody needs to do it. Sorry for this post it has been hashed around in another thread for a few weeks and has nothing to do with Matt.

these statements maybe true but there was really nobody else to turn to was they?

Yep there was. Most people who love the tigers believe the ball should have been left with an athletic Dillion Brown. There were two other older more athletic players with quarterback experence who didn't even get a snap. One of the guys should have been the man at the beginning of the season. I doubt if Kinner even knew this guy was a q-back at the 5A system he transferred from .Oh well I suppose there are more things to worry about besides who is calling the signals in D1 at the ville. Also could anybody on board have run that mess?

Yep there were at least three. Most people seem to feel that the ball should have stayed in the hands of a more athletic and older Dillion Brown. There were two older and more athletic kids with Q-back experience, one in a 5-a program before coming to the ville. Kinner may have not known about the latter two, but with another agenda neither kid would have gotten a snap anyway. The transfer player should have been the 09 starting Q-back. Even with a terrible offense this change might have made for 2 more in the w side.
A glimpse at what might have been came in the tigers last touch in the Harlan playoff game (Brown/Caldwell TD pass). As a sideline the last time a Tiger team went to Harlan Coach Hans D'.s middle school took a win 38-0 from the Green Dragons ,led by the other potential Q-back. Oh water under the bridge.

Okay, here goes. Know I should not do this since I am so creative to use my actual name as my "pen name". I think Coach Kinner is a wonderful man, and does a great job. Wouldn't want anyone else coaching my son in football. I have nothing negative to say about him at all!!!!! But, parents do not need to be part of their child's coaching staff. Just not a good idea. Regardless of the talent of the kid their play time will come into question in that situation. I think Matt is a great kid, but not the best one for the qb job. He's just too slow, and too timid, in my opinion. Now, that being said I also want to address one other issue. I've seen several times where it is said that there was no blocking, tackleing etc. on this years team. I DO NOT agree. I was at every game but one and do know that my son gave 110% every single game he played. He DID tackle, and he DID block. He, in my opinion, had more solo tackles than most on the team. So please recognize that not everyone failed to do their job.

On the defensive side of the ball his stats had to be remarkable. In my opinion he truly gave 110. My problem however comes to the offense. Your son's athletic ability was comprimised if not wasted on this side of the ball. He was stuck running routes that could not be thrown to. I know about his past football experience and have talked to many of his prior coaches. In my opinion your son should have been the QB on that team but the guys up front would have offered little protection due to you know what B-------g and T------g. I certainly hope you didn't miss the Harlan game.

I'm sure Matts confidence has went up knowing everyone is behind him. Paintsville will never be the same again I LOVE IT.

Matt's confidence may be affected, but I doubt seriously that he would say that it"has went up". He is a P-ville Tiger. Hang in there Matt and wait on that curveball.
