Saturdayâs second championship game will match Lexington Christian Academy (13-1) and Mayfield (13-1). LCA is making its second appearance in the finals. It was runner-up to Beechwood two years ago. Mayfield is a frequent finalist. This is its 15th time in the title game. It has a 7-7 record.

It’s been a turnover-fest so far. Five possesions between the teams, and four turnovers. LCA QB Lucas Witt has been picked off twice, the last time at the Mayfield 10. Mayfield has returned the favor, losing a fumble and an interception.

LCA 7, MAYFIELD 0: The Eagles turned Mayfield’s third turnover into a TD. Branden Burdette tipped a pass and teammate Sam Maybriar intercepted it and returned it 15 yards to the 5. Domonique Hayden then scored on the next snap to put LCA on top with 5:50 left in the first half. We’ve had 5 turnovers in 6 minutes.

weather is a big factor, 8 pics for mayfields qb all year and 5 today. there were 10 turnovers in the SS- PT game as well
