To our boys, I am extremely proud of how we handled ourselves tonight. We did not commit one turn over because of Feds Creek's press. More importantly, from my understanding, we are the first team that has forced Feds Creek out of there press all year long. This is a game we should have won, we committed very few turnovers but we had really bad shot selection. We should have moved the ball more and found easier shots because baskets for us came easy when we rotated the ball, we just did not do it enough. I feel though as this is another that got away from us, we lead from the beginning of the game until half way through the 4th quarter. Some how our boys seemed to forget that Johnny Miller can shoot the lights out. Our defense on Cameron Justice was great, we held the young all star to only 8 points, 6 of which I believe was scored from the free throw line.
To Feds Creek's boys, you are a very talented group of young men that play really well together. You can do great things this year. However, as much as I can praise your skills, the respect you show towards others and yourselves, the maturity you displayed and the enjoyment you got out of playing the game and winning with sportsmanship tonight was absolutely amazing. You are as fine of a group of boys as I have seen all year long.
To the coaching staff of Feds Creek, I can say the same about you as I can about your players. We would welcome you all to play at Mullins again anytime! Tonight I believe was a fun game for everyone who watched it and I hope we play more this year.
To the fans of Feds Creek, I am jealous of 99% of you! I wish all of our parents and students would get behind our team the way you have. I believe you had more people on your side of the stands tonight then we did.
To the other 1% of Feds Creek's fans, I feel you should be ashamed of yourselves by actions that happened during the game. I will say this to all parents, not directed towards these specific few. Please believe and support your coaches. If they tell your children something, it is something they are either trying to teach your child or correct for the betterment of the team. Please do not disrespect and yell at them during the game. Secondly, do not taunt or run your mouth at the other team's coach in a way that is disrespectful or degrading. That is a very bad example to set for children of this age. They look to the actions of elders, and model there actions after you. Sit in the stands please, yell about calls when they do not go for your team, cheer when things go great and boo when they go bad but never taunt or try to pick a argument with a opposing coach during or after a game.

Coach, hats off to your team! I thought they played very hard and had the Vikings on the ropes. Meade is as good as advertised, #23 is tough under the basket and you have a couple other nice defensive players and shooters. You did a great job against the press, my compliments on being prepared for that. Going into the game I thought F.C. had a mismatch with that, as scouting reports on your team said you guys were vulnerable to the press.... So much for scouting reports! Anyway, great effort by your squat. As for Feds Creek.... I thought they played hard AT TIMES, other times, they didn't. In the end you found what you needed to win and that's great. Its a key element in being a championship squad. However, I would like to see what you can do with 4 quarters of hard play..... I guess its a growing process. I do applaud the 99% of the fans! They really support the kids and have done so when times have been lean.... As for the 1%..... Coach, I can assure you that 99% of the fans and parents CONDEMN that type of DISTASTEFUL, DESPICABLE, and downright IMMATURE BEHAVIOR....... They despise it to the point where I think some of the parents are going to have a conversation with that 1% as they are tired of being embarrassed by these MORONIC individuals..... In the meantime coach, please accept my sincerest apologies for that 1%.

There is no need to apologized to us. I feel the apology needs to go to your players more then it does us. They do a great job representing the Feds Creek name and making is something to be proud of. The actions of those few tarnish that image the kids try so hard to create. There are always a few bad apples that try to ruin things, but I promise you we will take none of the bad from this game and praise all the good. As for scouting reports, us being weak against the press has been very accurate so far this season. Against Betsy Layne this past weekend, we finally started to get how to run a press break and tonight we looked like a team that wants to be pressed. For both teams, after all the highly ranked games this week and the first round of the 15th region tournament, I believe this will be the game of the week.

I would like to thank our fans and feds creek fans for the great atmosphere tonight at out gym. It was a great environment for the players. Yes there was some things said in the stands but I teach my boys the same as ant other coach and that is the game is played on the floor not in the stands. I would like to thank Brody Justice and the Feds Creek basketball team for the great sportsmanship they played with tonight. I believe that this county is loaded with talent and I believe if you were at the game you got your money's worth.

camron justice had 10 and the vikings led till halfway through the first quarter. camron justice only played two minutes in the first two quarters becouse of foul trouble. i will admit mullins has a good team but meade is a ballhog he would shoot from half court he may of had half the points but how many times did he shoot xD

Thanks for complementing on our feds creek boys they played very well last night

First of all meade is not a ballhog. He is a great player and a coaches dream to have on there team. Justice only had 8 points by the way, and meade only had 17. I am proud of all my boys and we will work hard everday untill we get were we need to be. Saying a kid is a ball hog isnt congratulating the kid but bashing him. I thought this discussion was settled along time ago. Let the kids play the game they love and post positive comments not negative. You don't see anyone bashing any other players for shooting the ball so dont for a second bash one of mine. Dylan is one of the best players at this level of basketball and will only get better.

I was very proud of the way our Mullins Tigers came out to play against Feds Creek. This was a game that the boys were pumped to play and they showed it in the first half. Handling the press had been a problem in every game played previously, but against the Vikings it was a piece of cake. Our boys ran the press break right every time and that's what we have to continue to do every night. It's just a shame it took us this long to get it working right. Our boys played great defense on the Justice kid from Feds Creek, but they seemed to forget about how well the Miller kid can shoot the ball. Feds Creek picked it up in the second half and overcame a 7 pt deficit at halftime. They were able to kick it into gear when we began to feel comfortable and that's when the tide changed.
Overall it was a great night of basketball with a great atmosphere for the kids to play in. I was impressed with the sportsmanship of the players from Feds Creek and they seemed like a well behaved group of boys. Just like bball_fan said, there was a bit of a problem with only 1% of the fans. Its a shame that a parent in the stands will shout comments and yell profanity at an opposing coach in the middle of a game, while he's standing on the court. What's even worse than that is the fact it's being shouted out in front of all the kids sitting on the bench. When you have a child coming and telling you after a game that fans in the stands are yelling profanity at the coach and the refs, what does that teach our kids?.....Anyway, Feds Creek has a great coaching staff, a very talented basketball team, and for the majority a great group of fans.
tharris1, I'm going to include you in that 1% of craziness that was sitting behind Mullins bench. To get on here and say that a kid is a ballhog is REAL classy. A good shooter is going to shoot the ball. Maybe we had poor shot selection at times, but you have to remember these are kids. They are going to grow as players in the future and this will cause that poor shot selection to decrease. You posted your comment knowing that the player you just degraded is probably going to read it...but what does that really say about you? Dylan Meade is a great basketball player.

Gee, that really is a VERY low thing to do. Those parents/fans should truly be ashamed of them selves. And about Dylan Meade, he is a excellent bball player, and can shoot the lights out. I remember watching him @ Wesley, and can only imagine how much better he must be now (he was outstanding at Wesley)

Dylan Meade is quiet simply a great player. I have never seen a kid with the talent he has. At times last night he did take bad shots but thats because we put the ball in his hands and told him to run the offense. He'll learn and grow from things and we'll continue to learn to work better and better as a team. As I said before, we are taking baby steps but we are getting closer to where we need to be. We beat good teams like Pikeville and Allen Central off of us shooting the ball, and we gave Feds Creek all they wanted and more by doing other things good. Imagine how good we will be when we play a game where we handle the press like we did against Feds Creek, battle for rebounds like we did against Pikeville and shoot the ball like we did against Allen Central? So do not bash a boy at this age for taking bad shots, if anything, blame should fall on us. Its up to us to take the ball out of his hands but nobody in this area can guard Dylan man to man and thats what Feds Creek played all night against us.

I saw a very well played game. I thank what first really got the FedsCreek fans so upset is when Mullins Coach screamed at one of his own players "I was telling what play to make and everyone in here heard me but you, what is wrong with you". Then Mullins Coach keep running out on the floor and at one point he ran almost to the center of the court and the Reff's did nothing about it. There was alot of bad calls that nite, like they called 3 fouls on a Mullins kid I thank the # was 24 but not for sure (1 should have been on him) the other (2) should have been on # 15 from Mullins. We all must remember that this is a SPORT and that the Reff's can't see everything. So good luck to both teams.

I did yell at one of my boys because he wasn't were he was suppose to be, thats what a coach does. Don't use me as an excuse for the way your fan behaved. Nothing I said had anything to do with them or anyone else. The player I yelled at is one of my best and he knew he messes up. Everything I said to the player was the truth, not yelling at him for no reason but coaching him and making him a better player. Good luck to everyone this season.

Why would Feds Creek fans care about what we say to our boys as long as we do not degrade, attack or publicly embarrass the child? Everybody that plays basketball at some point is going to be yelled at, its part of playing the game. What made Coach Kidd so mad though, was we had to tell this certain player the same thing three times that night. How many of you get upset when you have to repeat yourself over and over to someone? I have heard rumors about how bad coaches in this area can be when they get mad, and if yelling is the worst thing me and coach kidd do to our boys, then what is the big deal? We do not curse toward our boys when we yell either! Screaming sometimes though as a coach, is not just a good thing but a necessary evil to light a fire in your boys to make them play harder. So please, if you want to question us, attack us or criticize on how we coach, please at least do so over something that every coach in the world is not guilty of doing.

I agree coach, you was just coaching this boy. I bet this player wont mess this play up again. Sometimes you have to speak louder to get your point across.
