It was back and fourth the entire first half as both Wildcats made it a track meet. SV led Logan 52-50.
SV pulled away in the third quarter as Logan was dominated in the paint the entire night by a bigger and more physical SV team
Elisha Justice and Noah Cotrill didn't disappoint as Cotrill had like 43 points and several dazzling plays. But, in my opinion Justice was the best player onthe floor tonight has he has 37pts at least 15 assists and two dunks.
Both players are very good. Elisha I think handles the ball better and is quicker.
Paul Herbert Williamson for Logan also had a solid game. Cody Varney \, Hatfield and the Newsomes played great.
It was personally fun to watch these two teams play. Plus I graduated from Logan and got to fellowship with alot of friends that I don't get to see very often. Lol, my wife was goofing with me because I have ties to both schools and she said who do you want to win and I said joking the Wildcats.
Best of luck to boths teams this year.
Some of my buddies from Logan said that when Logan doesn't play they are going to watch Shelby Valley some this year.

Sorry that I mistyped the spelling on Shelby Valley. I apologize.

Awesome to hear the two went at it this good.
Elisha had two in game dunks? Nice. 37 points, that has to be his career high, hopefully a start of things to come from him this season.

His height doesn't hold him back.

Valley looked very good tonight, played hard and passed the ball well. Logan shot the lights out from the 3 point line. Valley will have to improve on the 3 point defense. Valley could not press this team. It looked like they started 4 gaurds and a forward.
Elisha was the best player on the court. Cotrill from Logan can shoot the 3 with the best of them but did not have the speed or ball control of Elisha. Cotrill also appeared to have an attitude on the court.
Valley will be a fun team to watch this year. I hope another trip to Rupp in the end. I just hate this is the last year to watch Elisha and the whole gang. If you have not seen him play in person, I suggest you go watch him/them play. He is worth the price of admission.... Go wildcats!!

Great Game and both teams were going at each other. Cotrill is a great scorer but Justice may be the better all around player. Cotrill is currently 4 star and ranked 79th according to Rivals. If that is the case there is no way Justice is not TOP 100. Haters come on out who cares.

I agree. Justice is the best all around player.

I didnt get to watch the game but hopefully by the way Justice played it will get him some more recognition. Good Job SV.

I would agree, if this guy can give up 37 to Elisha, who is 3 inches smaller than him, and lose by 16, then why in the world is Elisha not in the top 100 if this guy is in the top 80.

All of Elisha's 37 didn't come on Cotrill. Logan's interior defense didn't show up. He shot alot of layups.

Even if it wasn't all against Cottrill, Elisha has as good a game as the #79 player in the nation(20th PG) and will still get hated on by this site.

Cotrill could really shoot the ball! I can see him contributing in college because of the smooth stroke he has. Elisha does more for his team in my opinion, but neither could guard the other. Elisha is much better going to the basket, but Cotrill is the better in game shooter. It was really fun watching both teams. It was like a track meet.

Should have added that earlier for anyone who didnt get to watch. They rarely gaurded each other. Cotrill is deadly from long range and will fire it from any where. Justice is the better ball handler and stronger to the basket and I believe makes his teammates better.

That would have been a fun game for me to have done on the radio

Justice did good tonight but Cottrill did better and he is better. He will be a much better college player then Justice. Justice is fast as they get but he is real short and in college he isn't going to get the help from the refs like he did tonight lol The kid shot atleast 20 free throws. In college he is going to have to get past kids just as fast as he is who will prolly be bigger too and even if he does get past the guy guarding him theres no way he will be able to finish against the 6'10 guys playing down low. I fope does do well in college because its always great to see a kid from eastern kentucky do good at the college level in sports but I just don't see it happening. He should have went to a mid major school like eastern of morehead st.

Hopefully we can get some official stats but at one point Cotrill made 18 straight free throws so he at least shot 20 if not more.

Not sure, but I think Elisha was 12-12 from the line. Cotrill probably shot 25+ free throws. Both played well I thought. It's according what you're looking for at the next level when talking about who is better. Elisha definitely handles and distributes the ball better, but Cotrill is a better shooter.

Being ranked the #20 PG you'd think Cottrill would be a heck of a passer and ball handler.

Cotrill isn't by no means a bad ball handler himself. He was taking anyone and everyone off the dribble on valleys team. Justice was doing the same to Logans players but imo Cottrill being about 5 inches taller and stronger will be able to finish alot easier then justice who is at the tallest 5'9. Idc what any program has him listed at. Cottrill's shot will make it alot easier for him to take ppl of the dribble too.

So tonight you watched Valley, Scott Co, and Tates Creek play, wasn't that kind of hard?

All of the SV posters have been speaking very well of Cotrill why are so defensive? You post non factual info about free throws and now you have officially measured each player.

Cotrill handles the ball just fine. Elisha just handles it alot better. That may be true that Cotrill will be able to finish better, but tonight Elisha finished better because he goes stronger to the hoop than Cotrill. Cotrill, however, can stop on a dime and rise up over the defender. He is a great talent and I was very impressed.
I was also impressed with #13 on Logan's team as well as Taylor Newsome and Tyler Newsome from SV. They definitely dominated the smaller defenders in the paint.

And all of the Logan people at the game were very complimentary about Justice. I was really fun watching this game. Guys I am the only West Virginia native I guess posting on this thread.

I actually talked with a couple of Logan's fans after the game. I overheard them saying, "we had 18 guys on that bench, and no one could guard him". I said, "don't feel bad because we couldn't guard your guy either". One of them said, "yeah, but your's passes the ball more, makes his team better, and isn't cocky like ours."
Cotrill was as good as advertised in my opinion though and all the SV people were very complimentary of his game.

Yeah both fan bases really enjoyed watching the game . And no one could guard the two. I thought that Ashley and the Newsome boys played great too. Elisha does make everyone on his team better.

Could have watched these two teams and kids play all night. No better point guard play and both point guards showed all of us what time and committment brings those who put in the time. :worthy:

I agree. I could have watched them play 3 games and still been on the edge of my seat. The pace of the game was a basketball fan's dream.

I just want to thank both teams for playing hard and giving us a very entertaining game. I know it was just practice but man it was a track meet. Lol, Milam was using the oxygen tank and mask at the half.

Congrats Valley!!
