We do have our hands full but it will be in Somerset...Congrads to the players and coaches...the team has played great defense the past 7 quarters against Paintsville and Harlan not giving up a single point. Hopefully the Panthers can slow down a very good Somerset team and have a chance at the end.

I agree BP but Pikeville isn't good enough to go to state again this year and IMO Belfry is...it looks like Belfry is going to be a yearly threat to go to state and I really believe Coach Jackson will have Pikeville back to that level sooner than many believe so I think the chances are pretty good for a Pike County Doubleheader in Louisville in the future but not this year.

My honest opinion is that I would say Pikeville is a 7-10 point underdog going into the game next week. However Pikeville does have a good defense that is playing good right now and has 7 straight quarters of shutout ball against Paintsville and Harlan but Somerset is better than Paintsville and Harlan and has a better offense. Pikeville is going to have to play a great game, esp. on defense to have a chance to pull the upset. The key matchup IMO is the Somerst offense vs. the Pikeville defense...if Pikeville wins that matchup they have a great chance IMO if not this one could be over by halftime.

I agree with you. Somerset has the better team. But Pikeville is Pikeville. Even though this isn't one of the best pikeville teams like the ones in the past. I think they will play Somerset tough. I think if they play mistake free football and take the crowd out of the game they can pull this off:rock:

Somerset.....seems like we got cheated...they like faked an injury to stop the clock or something....this might have been 2 games ago there....it was when I was in like 7th grade or so.

The game you are talking about was 1999 I believe Beef...it was a good game and Somerset won by about 6 I believe.
