On the other hand Breathitt is playing much better but I don't think they could have played much worse than they did the first five or six games. That being said, it sounds like Somerset is being overlooked because Breathitt has finally won some games. I don't know the outcome but from an outsider looking in the briarjumpers have to be favored.
I would have agree with you i would have to say that the briarjumpers are most likely favored to win, but there are certain that just seem always save there best football for November and december and Breathitt seem to be one of those turns it on in the playoffs. I really think that Breathitt is going to win by a couple of td's friday.
GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only can jade pull it, he can give it to his first option in Richard Trent, who is just a freshman and having an outstanding season.

Ummmm.........i'm pretty sure their win against Pulaski Co is what i would consider a test!

Everyone has pretty sound arguments for their teams, this should be a great match up no matter what. I am going to have to stick with my pick of Somerset for one reason. Breathitt Co. has been shut down in games this year, Somerset has barely even been slowed down, hard for me to pick against them.

Lot of talk about what Fugate and Haddix are going to do to Somerset D. What about the D, who is the Breathitt D focusing on? Very little being said about that matchup, as all anyone seems to want to talk about is the BC RB and QB. Game may turn on the BC D vs SHS O.

Breathitt has not performed this season and if they do not tomorrow, they will be going home with a loss.

All the talk about Fugate and Haddix? Well, if you watched the videos you should realize these guys are stone cold killers on defense....basically the same group of guys that made Central fumble 6 times last year in the championship game! They hit as hard as anyone in the state and they will be coming after Somerset for sure. Breathitts lines have been playing great of late....with everyone back healthy. Their defense has shut a few teams out. Hazard could not score a touchdown against Breathitt and that was without the best defensive...yeah that's right...best defensive player in the state....Channing Fugate.
Just wait till you see Channing reading your teams offense before they even hikes the ball and moving in for the kill. Channing moves around on D like a panther looking for its prey. Your Somerset boys are about to get hit harder than they have ever been hit in their lives. Do they like getting hit? Central didn't in last year's championship game...they just got lucky and recovered 4 of the 6 fumbles Breathitt caused. I hope your team has been working on fumble recovery drills in practice because there is going to be a lot of them. You will be cringing in your seat at times watching Breathitt do its thing on D. With Somerset's schedule this year you are not accustomed to this level of physical play. This Breathitt D is very aggressive and will score some points come Fri night.

Looks good for the Bobcats then because the offensive/defensive line have been playing excellent football. I know Powell Co. was not much of a test, but they could not even get the ball past Breathitt's Defensive line. I went to the game hoping to see the Chan man puts some big hits on some people after seeing how well he did defensively against Perry Central, but he only got a few tackles at the most because Powell couldn't even get past Breathitt's defensive line.
The offensive line got McKnight back from injury who also starts on the defensive line and getting those two starting wide-outs back has made a big difference too. Fugate is 100%, Haddix is 100% and both are playing the best football of their careers. It is going to be good, but I still say that Breathitt is on another level.

Max Preps currently has Breathitt ranked #29 in the state and Somerset #85.

This is the only Bobcats I'll be pulling for this week. Good luck to both on a clean injury free game.

Your point is? Hazard is playing for their regional title tonight and will mostly likely move on. At that point in the season Breathitt had key players out that game and was on a 5 game losing streak. Key Breathitt Freshman and other Bobcats stepped it up and got that victory. Breathitt's D not only kept Hazard from getting a td but kept the best kicker in the state...Delpont from Hazard from making two field goals that would have given Hazard the victory.
Bottom line is that was a good victory for the Bobcats and yes whether you like it or not turned the season around for them along with getting some key players back from injury. :flame:

They also had alot of great wins especially right now in the playoffs against Perry County Central and Whitley! In both cases Pulaski Co was considered the underdog! So you can aregue both ways with that team.

Nice vids flashman. Channing Fugate is a beast. Sure wish UK would have pursued him more aggressively. I hate to see KY talent like that wearing that Volunteer orange.

lol If Breathitt made Central lose the ball 6 times and they still beat them by 30 sumthin points then it sounds to me that Breathitt was lucky to not get beat by 60+ points had Central not lost the ball so much
and no Channing Fugate is not the best defensive player in the state, pretty sure Centrals MLB is, until now of course bc hes out for the season with a knee injury
You talk alot of **** that I hope Breathitt is ready to back up because I know if I was on Somersets team and read all the crap you've said and how much you've downed SHS your posts alone would be enough to get me fired up enough to split heads and id say alot of them have been using it for motivation already
and lastly apparently Breathitt isn't accustomed to this level of physical play eithier considering they lost 5 of the games that other teams were actually capable of playing physical, and considering Somerset hasn't lost i'd say that alone proves they play physical, you dont go 10-0 playing soft, but regardless good luck to both teams and hope it's a injury free game for both teams also, should be a good one

What I think he was getting at is that Hazard is a small school and if Breathitt is as good as everyone claims then they should have been able to take care of Hazard a whole lot easier than what they did

I'm just waiting to see who is going to emerge on to the scene for Breathitt, because you know that somerset is keying on Channing and Jade. Look for Richard Trent (freshman) to have a big game and help carry the offensive load. On the Defensive side look for a team effort, Breathitt does starts 4 freshman on defense, but don't let that fool you because they play like Jr's and sr's. Look for Channing to have another 250 yard performace on the ground, he is running as good as I've seen him run in the last 3 weeks.

True, but I heard he only carried the ball twice that game. Were you there? Can you confirm/deny this?
What was wrong with Breathitt to only let Mr. Football Candidate carry the ball twice? Did he get hurt?

Sheldon Clark as a great Defense and Im not try to take nothing from them, but that was the second game of the season and we had 3 new linemen who had never started and hadn't even played much varisty. Zone blocking is hard to teach and it is different each week. Don't look for that to happen again, i think that up front guys are total different ball club now and they learned alot from that game.

The defintion to insainty-is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different out come. Coach Holcomb seen that it was not going to work they stack the line and had 9 guys in the box so he had to go else were. i do wish they could of got the ball more that game and sure Holcomb does to.

Where is the field in Somerset? Is it close to 80/Hal Rogers Pkwy?
