i agree mr. mudcat...i would like to see john pauls team play breathitt!!!

The best thing that could have happened to the Bobcats was the loses earlier this season. If they were undefeated I think they would lose this games but they have taken their lumps, sucked it up, and kept fighting. The Bobcats win this game in a close one.

This Bobcat team is way underrated this season. This team is on fire. Congrats to Somerset for their undefeated season, but come Fri. night the party is over.

Do the Briar Jumpers really have a rabbit for their mascot? Seriously? Well, there are some hungry Bobcats coming to town Friday. Someone mentioned earlier that the Bobcats play better and more focused on the road....it is true...it happens when they put those blue jerseys on. Putting on all that blue brings out the best in them...it reminds them of their heritage and what they are all about. The whole town of Somerset will be able to feel the presence of this Bobcat team as soon as they cross the county line.

Being that the Bobcats are the "Road" team, I'll guess they will be wearing their white jersey's not the blues. Jumpers were Purple or Gold at home and White or Gold on the road.

Don't be Dissin' the Rabbit

You think your Fugate videos were something Flashman, take a look at this one.

My mistake about the uniforms. I should have known better than that. As far as the psycho bunny video these Bobcats are ready to slay a fire breathing dragon if need be. It's going to be rabbit stew come Friday night. I've never tried rabbit stew, but then again some of the Bobcats may prefer roasted rabbit. I did try some fried breaded rabbit when I was a youth. I'll have to look up some recipes.

I think your Briar Jumpers are content with their 12-0 season and will still feel pretty good about their selves after a loss to Breathitt. On the other hand, these Bobcats are looking for some satisfaction and they will not be satisfied until they revenge last year's loss to Central. After tough losses to Prestonsburg, PCC, Johnson Central and Sheldon Clark early in the season that were in many ways the result of injuries, bad calls, and bad breaks many people started saying this team was down this year and would not go far in the playoffs. Well now they are at 100% and firing on all cylinders just as good if not better than last year's team. I think Fugate, Haddix, and the rest of the Bobcats are playing as well as ever. I think they will quite the naysayers come Friday night.

:dontthink That's what the "Knights that say Nee" though as well, you saw what happened to them in the video.

You are a good sport about things Jumper Dad. We need more people on these forums like that...have a little fun without getting all torn up about things. I got great confidence in my Bobcat team, but if by any reason Somerset does prevail I will support them to win the championship due to you and the other Briar Jumper fans good sportsmanship. The best of luck too you and your Briar Jumpers come Friday night.
Hope Breathitt wins, but afraid they may have met their match !!
bobcats win this one in one great turnaround
if Somerset wins ill support/cheer them all the way to the state championship because they've been very nice and kind to us.

Appreciate the compliment! This team will go down as one of Somerset's most special. All they do is go to practice, play on Friday night, congratulate after the game and then get ready for the next week. Nothing flashy about them. I applaud and give all the credit to Coach Lucas. For years under Coach Cobb you could read a thread somewhere on Somerset about a quote in a newspaper or something negative about the Jumpers. I will come out and say that if Breathitt wins, you have my full support for the championship!

It sounds like Somerset has been well underrated as well. Dang, they're having to listen to how wrong it is for them to be undefeated while playing great football. On the other hand Breathitt is playing much better but I don't think they could have played much worse than they did the first five or six games. That being said, it sounds like Somerset is being overlooked because Breathitt has finally won some games. I don't know the outcome but from an outsider looking in the briarjumpers have to be favored.
Breathitt Co better have there secondary on top priority, cause Somerset loves to pass the ball.

1)God
2)Family
3)Cougar Athletics!

I think that the bobcats will come out hot and score a couple td's early and set the tone of the game and if the briar jumpers don't match them on the early td's it will be over early. Early scores like that just makes Fugate stronger on run the ball and look for a wrinkle up Holcomb sleeve and come out and throw the ball around and look like the breathitt teams of the 90's.
TheBrahmaBull Wrote:This has happened before, just not in the playoffs. Breathitt beat a Pikeville team led by Chapman 33-0 I think in Pikeville several years back. I think Somerset has a really good team, but I think that Breathitt was coasting in the regular season and will win 28-21, but it could easily go the other way.

yea but that was 1998 this is 2009 there has been many chairs thrown since then and i believe if they met it would be more even teams with an obvious whole lot more at stake dont think the 33-0 score meant that holcomb was that much better of a coach

Both of tese coachs are one of the best in state. Ireally hated to see Chapman leave becase him and Holcomb just were so good at what they done, but I'm happy for Pike Central and what he has done for there program. I would like to see them meet in the semi's. Hocomb is a mastermind on the offensive side of the ball, and John paul is a genius on Defensive side. I played under them both and have the great most respect for them both. They both taught alot about the X's and O's.

No one is saying that it is wrong for them to be undefeated. We're saying they played an easy schedule so going undefeated might not mean as much. Breathitt actually played some tough nose football against SC and Prestonsburg and those two games were as good as wins in my column. Also, if there is one thing I have learned this season is that you can not understand the potential of this Breathitt team being an outsider looking in...that's just it. The Briar Jumpers are not favored. I read on another forum that according to AP Breathitt has a 59.1 rating coming into this game and Somerset has a 58.2 rating. Looks like someone had enough sense to factor in the strength of schedule for both teams.

I am not sayin that Holcomb is a better coach, just stating that they have met before and the outcome was 33-0. They are very familiar with each others coaching style. In 1998, Breathitt finished 11-3, Pikeville 10-3, both teams were pretty good.

Somerset is undefeated but they have not been tested but Breathitt has not won against any true opponents either, and undefeated is nothing to overlook.
May the best team win.TongueirateSho
somerset rolls in this one!!! sorry bobcats
logmountainboy64 Wrote:bobcats win this one in one great turnaround

More people than just me are going to be calling them the "comeback cats" after Fri night. Breathitt is not only going to beat Somerset but beat them convincingly. Then maybe some will finally realize this team is back.

Breathitt 42
Somerset 14
breathitt is gonna have a long bus ride home on friday night!!! if somerset stops channing fugate they will defeat the breathitt county bobcats...the ole mighty bobcats will go down..i figure they will have 3 turnovers and give up a lot of passing yards...i think this game will be close though...
