I don't know what teams that you have played that have said that they have more speed but Bell does. Christian Co probably did but they had 5 starters out. It dosn't matter right now we are worried about Rock and that is it I am done on this thread hope we do get to play Boyle especially on the turf.

The site of all games during the first four rounds in all classes shall be determined by the designated home team. The game manager shall notify the KHSAA of the site, date and time of the game not later than 10 a.m. Monday prior
to the game.
It's all there in black and white. I'm confussed as to why this is so hard to understand?:HitWall:

Funny I didn't see a single Boyle poster on this thread mention the Bell Game (if it happens). :eyeroll: You are the one that is seemingly more concerned over the conditions of fields and game sites than the Boyle fans on here. To quote the old Bard, "me thinks he doth protest too much."

You and me both. I just don't see how some can't say, "I was wrong about who decides," and then has to bring in their "authority" of the KHSAA board when the rule DOES NOT state that at all.
Why does it take a novice like you and I to point out rules that are there for others to see, particularly others who might by virtue of their profession ought to know the rules? It is :ChairHit:

You need to read under III Game managers.

Why not? I wouldn't know. Judging from the statements made by French in the story he doesn't want to loose a big gate and therefore is doing all he can to have the field at Boyle ready by the next week (if needed). If it's not ready, then they may very well find themselves at Centre again. I truly think this week made perfect sense.
Next week carries different dynamics as could the week after. As to the notion that I think you are implying, Boyle will play better on turf against anyone. That's a no-brainer. In fact, I wish Centre seated about twice as many and this maybe wouldn't be an issue to some at all and Boyle could play their games there for the playoffs.
BTW, for those too young or out of the know, Danville used to play on Centre's field prior to Admiral Stadium being opened. Of course it was grass then but many a big regular season and playoff game was held there in the late 60's and early 70's.

Nowhere does it say location. It only speaks of ticket allocation. Now that could be an interesting loophole, however it does not speak of location or site. That is the ONLY thing that can be appealed according to that rule.

Snare43 Wrote:Hatz..........Why not LC on the turf?
Why did Boyle want the first meeting moved to Saturday instead of playing in the rain or mud that Friday night? Because they wanted to play on a good surface.
My guess would be because more than 2,500 would want to watch this game, and it gives the field another week to get prepaired to play.
This is only if both teams should win this Friday night.

LC will be much more accustom to turf than Boyle. My point is LC grabs the advantage when playing there. But like I said it is a one shot deal. By the way if your field is to bad and we both make it we will host the game.

This has nothing to do with the site of the game. NOTHING! Just discusses the starting time, admission charges, expenses, and allocation of tickets. Thats ALL!

As I mentioned in the previous post, but here have quoted it, the issues revolve around the italicized. I believe these are the items that can be referred to the Commissioner.
I find it ironic that anyone is debating the right of the Home Team to choose a better field to play on, even if the seating is limited. I've seen enough fields that had inadequate seating for decades and still hosted games.

If Bell and Boyle should meet, playing at Centre would be in Bell fav. alot of people don't know that dudley has a turf practice field not on campus. Bell practices on it alot. Go ahead all you Bell Co. fans and say its not true. They have a turf/carpet practice facility

Again, that's a catch-all that is often included in any document and I still say it might be the basis for a complaint but not one that would hold merit.
BTW, if that was the actual case, lem I wonder if any coach saw a field that had been, let's say "abused", protested to have the site moved?
So if Boyle went to Prestonsburg in 2000 and found the stands inadequate (and they were in that year), they could have petitioned to have the site moved to another venue and the Commish would have went along with it?
Come on. It's a reach and you guys know it. I'll confess that I had never had that section placed in front of me before but again, it goes back to which clause interprets which.
This particular problem all goes back to the simple fact that you guys seemed really torked over what field you play on if you or Boyle get that far. You can't possibly be sweating that can you?

I believe that the site would be a matter pertaining to the game DUH!

Serious question. Was the fact that the principals had to agree on EVERYTHING instituted before or after that controversial Bell/Highlands Thanksgiving Game?
11-11-2009, 03:11 PM
I keep going back to this clause at the beginning piece:
The site of all games during the first four rounds in all classes shall be determined by the designated home team.
I think that supercedes the Clause III on Game Managers mainly because the mention of Game Site is not in Clause III but appears prominently in the opening piece.

And I would add that it is an interesting point or loophole. So I guess we could see more protests in the future from any school that doesn't like the stadium arrangement?

When you are limiting the number of people that can come to the game you have a problem.

Same principle applies. If prior knowledge is known that the Field on Log Mountain is in serious and dangerous conditions to the athletes because of constant rain and weather, could not a team then ask for the game site to be moved to another field that is in better condition and not suffering the same hazard?
If Boyle knew the condition of the stands at say Prestonsburg that year, would the commish have had the game moved?
