Holy Cross beat Owen County in an opening-round 2A state playoff game played at Scott high school.
Holy Cross led just 6-3 after the first quarter, until senior quarterback Markel Walker got going and the Indians rattled off 35 unanswered points.
Walker was 11-of-17 passing for 240 yards and three touchdowns, rushed 12 times for 86 yards and a score, returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown and had two interceptions on defense from his safety position.
Two of Walker’s touchdown passes went to junior wide receiver Josh Jasper who finished with four catches for 151 yards.
Holy Cross (6-5) will face Louisville DeSales on Friday.

I agree. Classy move by all those involved with the Scott program.
As for the game, congrats Indians.
Markale Walker had a great game. Hopefully they can keep it going against Desales and get a rematch with Newcath.
