ron your a great football player and from what i hear an even better person. that said your coach is wearing me out. from the time he was at sheldon clark I personaly have never seen the man make a class statement. in 00 up 42 to 0 on ashland he ran a reverse for a touchdown and took a knee on the 2 point conversion. then the next year 01 refused to come take his licks at putnam. only after the khsaa forced sheldon clark come play did thay. now this year he cant stop slandering ashland mud cleats the feild goal and in the paper today "6 inches of mud on the field" its not like the field was only wet under johnson centrals feet, he never stops. i know the jc has a great group of young men, there class surprises me with a coach like matney. this is not about his ability to coach x and o its about character.

I liked the article and loved it becuase blume is differnet from other hb in the pass he is not cocky and respects his opponent week in and week out. one fine football player blum if u read this keep the work up man we are loven it proud to call u a neky football player.

I was at the APB vs JC game...what I saw in Blume is a track star not a HB/TB. If he makes it to the college level he would probably only see playing time on Special Teams (KO and Punt Return). Sorry Blume...your a good kid from what I hear but, you're just too small to play that position at the next level. Enjoy it while it lasts though.

Ron Blume is a great ball player and an even better person. I had the oppurtunity to play with him for a coupe of years. There is no other kid in the world who deserves to have a season like he is having. Ron works very hard for everything he acheives. He is one of the hardest workers i know. He will not quit. If a task seems to big to overcome, Ron will overcome it.
I think that Blume could play RB in college. Look at the RB who went to Kstate. He wasnt very big at all and look at him now. He is playing in the NFL. All i can say to Ron is to work hard and show everyone who has doubted you that you can play RB in college. Good luck Ron Blume and Remember "What so ever a man thinketh in his heart, so is he"

Never said he was Barry Sanders or anything close. Just that size doesn't matter. Sanders was told that he wouldn't even make varsity at his high school much less college. It just proves if you have the talent and desire that size won't stop you. You say your a military man then you should now that you improvise, adapt and overcome. You don't stop when things get stacked against you nor do you let everyone else decide what you can or can't do. You make your own future.

You are correct...in one aspect...I am in the military. That's the beauty of these types of sites...everyone has and is entitled to their own opinion. However, I will leave you with this last little bit of info....
Out of approximately 1 million high school varsity football players in the country... 150 will make NFL rosters: 6,000 to 1 odds. From Masterplan Group International (MGI), a sports management group in Chicago.

No one said he will make the NFL just the fact that everyone told Barry Sanders that he wouldn't even make the varsity program at his high school due to his size and that he went on to be one of the greatest running backs of all time in the NFL. Do I expect Blume to do this? NO. Do I expect Blume to be a top Div. 1 AA running back? NO. But do I think we should run a kid down and say he can't just because he's small? NO way.
Each and everyone of us especially high school kids that haven't already screwed up their lives can do anything that they set their mind to. If Ron Blume wants to play Div. 1 AA football I think he can do it yes even at running back.

Since everyone is entitled to their own oponion. Why would an adult/parent
laugh at a high school player and say he is not good enough to play at the next level. Where is your son playing at next year D-1, D-2 or D-3 has USC, Texas, ND or anyone else offered football scholarships?
I've always have and will continue to support our military and their efforts, but I have to ask you do you tell young recruits that they can't do whatever they set their mind to and just give up. If you do then please find another line of work I'm sure a lot of us will sleep better. JUST MY OPINION IN WHICH I'M ENTITLED TO!

First of all, I never laughed at anyone. Secondly, I never said Blume or any other player mentioned on this site couldn't do whatever it was he or she set his or her mind to do. The fact is right now Blume is not big enough to play running back at a D1 school. That is what I was talking about not that he couldn't ever play that position. And, right now the only playing time he would probably ever see at a D1 school would be on special teams (KO/Punt Return). That is what I said. If he puts on about 40 or 50 pounds (that is if he actually weighs 160 now) he might get to see playing time at running back at a D1 school. However, Blume himself (as he stated earlier in this thread) has probably chosen the best course of action for himself and that was to attend a D2 school, get some experience at the next level, gain some weight and then try to transfer to a D1 school. Lastly, do not ever question my integrity or commitment to my country and my troops as I am almost certain that between the two of us, only one has actually served in its military for the last 17+ years.
