Prestonsburg's Michael Burchett 2000 yards passing on the year
#1
Michael Burchett Prestonsburg
11 games played 129-198, 4 int 2233 Yds, 26 TD, 220 P-GM

I think these are correct stats i added his totals from tonights game to this year totals so it might be a little off but not by far so please forgive me if there wrong. i just wanted to say congrats on a great milestone to a great young man that has a great attitude on and off the field. I heard some people say that he might be the first 2000 yard passer is pburg history but i'am not for sure. i have done some research and havent found anybody that has so if this is true congrats. his is also the leading qb in 2A state right now and dont see that changing. goodluck in the rest of the playoffs which ever college team gets you is very lucky because you will make their program look better either on or off the field. your not only making p burg proud but eastern kentcuky as a whole.

65% comp percentage....WOW that is an amazing stat for any QB@ any level or any age. Congrats.

Michael is a great young man with a very bright future whether that be on the field or in the classroom as he held a 4.0 GPA at Prestonsburg and scored a 31 on his ACT.

Also, the Louisville Courier-Journal's recruiting expert Jody Demling done a good write-up on Michael.

does he still not have any offers from any of those schools. it will be ashame if he dont get a chance at a big name school.
#6
Hope this kid leads 'em to State.
#7
No he is still without a offer. But I'd say if he was to get one, it would be within' the month or so.
#8
He would look GREAT in Notre Dame GOLD & BLUE.....love to see such a great young man as a golden domer....
#9
Congrats Michael and keep it up!

you know this is what i think is hurting mountain kids more and more these days when it comes to getting alot of good offers. Alot of kids sign to play at a school even if its not a big name school maybe just a naia school and they quit in the middle of the season or at the end. Some drop out and dont go to class. But when you get a good kid like mr. burchett and schoolsare afraid to offer because of this reason. its a unfair sterotype that is on these players. yes 50%of players from the mountains end up not graduating or not finishing up all four years but their are good kids out there like Burchett that will stick it out there and try as hard as he can to do anything. if you told him to run through a brick wall to help his team or even his normal friends off the field he would. i really hope he gets a shot somewhere like Purdue, kentucky or a school like that.

Burchett will succeed not only on the football field in college, but in the classroom as well no matter where he gets the privilege of playing. I wish Michael the best in making it to a D1 school. I have the faith that he indeed will and will do well for himself. He has been quite a joy to watch in his two and a half years at quarterback for Prestonsburg.

Congrats on a great season good on your furture.

I'm pretty sure Joey Willis held the passing record before at just over 1900.

Great accomplishment by a great player and great young man. Michael deserves anything that he gets, he has worked hard for it and is a great leader both on and off the field.

I thought so too, but I took a look at the stats from his senior year and it just has the top 25 overall, and 25 is 162 yards per game and he is not on there. 162 a game would have him at 1944 yards. Its hard telling what the record was prior but now it is Burchett.

Michael is a GREAT young man. I had the honor of coaching Michael in grade school. The funny thing was, Michael was just getting his feet wet and so was I. At times he kept me calm in games ! He has always been a great leader, athlete and friend. Any coach would tell you at one time or another they have a player that they remember as being one they will never forget. Michael is one of those players ! He treats people with respect and carries himself with dignity ! Michael has a GREAT family that cares for the team and community. His numbers speak volumes on his talent, but it takes more than talent to be a success. I would drive cross country to watch him play at the next level. Good Luck to you Michael and lets keep it rolling Friday !:Clap::Clap: FIST BUMP !!!
