Is Murray a State Championship contender?
#1
Any thoughts?
#2
NOOOO, they are not! I wish ppl would quit posting bulletins and such about them, it dosen't matter if they are 10-0, they will NOT get past Fort Campbell, end of story and discussion
#3
Yes they are.
#4
They will not survive FC
#5
Didn't they only beat Crit County by a couple tds? I haven't even seen their schedule. But let me guess it's loaded up with powerhouses like Fulton county, Fulton city, and Ballard?
#6
I hate to tell you, but Fort Campbell is as far as Murray will go.

they tried to get mayfield on their schedule but they didnt want to put their perfect season at risk, but caldwell did that for them anyway.

NO

I can't see them getting past Fort Campbell. If they do, it will be an upset, regardless of their unblemished record.

Any other year, then the answer to your question would be yes.

Yea and I bet Ft. Campbell schedule is loaded with better power houses like Ft. Knox, Todd County, and Hopkinsville. they really played a tough one this year

Todd county is a district game, Ft. Knox is the Army Bowl, and Hoptown is usually good, they had a very down year, look at the TN teams Fort Campbell played, them and LCA played the same TN team and FC won like 56-26 and LCA won by one point 26-27, not to mention FC beat Warren Central 49-7 with ease while Warren central beat Bowling Green. If both teams make it that far I just dont see Murray hanging around for that long.

no way ft.campbell will roll

Confusedhh:Confusedhh:Confusedhh:

:lmao::lmao:
:eyeroll::eyeroll::eyeroll: Mayfield was just scared out of their minds to play the yeller tigers, typical for Mayfield. Murray refues to play Mayfield and even switched classes back when there were 4 classes to avoid Mayfield and that is not me kidding, they really did that. They ended the series that was one of the oldest in the state about 10 years ago after having managed 1 win since the mid 70's. By the way the 1 win was a fluke. Many of those years Mayfield beat or maybe a better word would be bashed Murray twice a year. Once in the regular season and once in the playoffs. Murray ducking Mayfield is well documented out west and frankly I dont see Murray getting brave enough to try it again now as the outcome would still favor the Cards. The yeller Tiger name is a common one used to identify Murray here because they duck us and nothing would make Cards fans, coaches and players happier than to get to bash on the yeller tigers again. :flame:

murray moved up after the former head coach, Rick Fisher, retired and passed his job to one of the softest, wimpiest coach that murray ever had, Lee Edwards. and it really doesnt matter if they moved up or not, because Murray's current head coach now, Steve Duncan, isn't scared and he tried to schedule a game but mayfield being scared that they would lose, turned down the offer and went on to be 9-1. it looks to me as if someone got happy cause they were number one and didn't show up to play, but murray does.now i would like u to tell me who u think would win between these two teams really?

I like Murray. Murray will not win against FC. Don't matter who FC has played or that their opponents collectively have a dismal record. Job one is to contain Andrews and that cannot be accomplished by any team I have seen this year.

Your facts are a little off but so be it. To answer your question, FC, Murray picked a bad year to have a good team because FC is just loaded to the gills this year and would cause problems in almost all classes, if not all classes, this year. Murray under Duncan has improved 10fold.

A one dimensional team will not win the 2A crown this year. All Murray can do is run the ball. They play of soft schedule so that is makes them look good, then they flame out in the playoffs like always.

even if murray has the second ranked defense for less scored points in state?

sounds likes mayfield a team that isnt that far from murray that was close to a perfect regular season.
#22
Murray has a good team but neither them nor Prestonsburg can overcome Fort Campbell.
#23
football dude Wrote:even if murray has the second ranked defense for less scored points in state?

Fort Campbell is the number one ranked defense for less scored points.
#24
as another poster already stated, the answer would be yes any other year, but Fort Campbell is just a beast and I dont think Murray will get past them. If by some miracle they do get past Ft. Campbell (and after Caldwell beating Mayfield, we all know miracles do happen) then they have a legit shot at it. They are a pretty one dimensional team (run, run, and run some more), but it has worked for them so far. Regarless, the Falcons will likely do to them what they have done to everybody else this year and punish them for even taking the field. And for those who point out Ft. Campbells schedule, if you have seen them play, then you know it doesn't matter. They could play with any team in the state in any class. They are just scarry good.

it doesnt matter wat your defense is ranked unless you play legit powerhouse offenses
fort campbell would probably destroy just about any one in the state regardless of class

I would love to see Highlands and Fort Campbell play.

And if these two teams were to ever play, this would be the year, Highlands is at there best this year, and Fort Campbell is imo is the best Fort Campbell team in history this year, too bad the people who want it wont get this match up.
#28
I just wish murray would stop ducking Mayfield, it's really sad that Murray would avoided this game at any costs
#29
yea to bad that ole mayfield lost to a team that murray defeated. Murray wanted to have a matchup but if u think that your the best and you dont have to show up to play, your wrong and thats why they lost that game. Murray comes focused and ready to play everytime they touch the field. im not sayin that it would be a blowout, but im sayin that mayfield would have a tough game to win against murray.

:dontthink

We both know why Murray wont play Mayfield and this year the 1 dimension yeller tigers would not be given much chance against a much more talented and diverse Cardinal team.
